These look great. Where I’m from we call them dry land fish. My great grandma used to role them in flour and a mix of seasonings then fry them until they turned a golden brown. We always look forward to this time of year so we can go find some and cook them like granny used to. Thanks for showing us how to grow our own using the egg cartons. I knew the spores always reproduced so granny always had us to throw the water we’d rinsed the mushroom in out the back door so we’d have fresh ones come back up the next year closer to home. So I’m definitely gonna be trying this with the egg cartons like you’ve shown us. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. Take care. 👋🏻

I had a barrel on the back patio. It was there to collect food scraps all winter. By April, it was smelling pretty nasty, crawling creatures living there. I rolled it out to the property edge to dump it. As i kicked it, rolled it to the house and hosed it out, every place where that residue touched the lawn grew morels after a month. I began mowing them off with the mower. “First warm rain in May, ”my dad would say. And yeah, there were morels already growing in my woods.

I do a similar method, in the fall I mow the leaves in my yard to where I put the slurry then burn in late February my kids get to pick them every year
