Pretty interesting that Joker: Folie A Deux seems to be about what Nolan implied the third Dark Knight movie would have been about if Ledger hadn't died - Joker going on trial for his crimes. There was even a rumor at the time that Joker would end up corrupting his court-ordered therapist (Harley Quinn) though I don't know if that bit was ever actually confirmed to be true. Still, this is likely as close as we'll ever get to seeing that play out.
