The italian special forces were the inspiration for the navy seals, just so y'all know.

Carabinieri GIS (Gruppo Intervento Speciale) is another elite group from the Carabinieri Militari division. Bersaglieri marksman and demolition is also another elite Italian Military group. Keep up with the great work!

The Unit That you saw on the snow were the ALPINI, another special force, that operate on the mountains

If you're interested in our alpine troops I highly recommend looking more into it! The 'Alpini' are one of the best specialist troops you could find and the oldest active mountain infantry in the world. They are specialised for mountain terrain (obviously) but served in Africa, Russia, the Middle East and all over the world.
Their service in WWII may be their most famous accomplishment and it has been recounted in many books from the likes of Eugenio Corti, Giulio Bedeschi and Mario Rigoni Stern, all of whom took part in the winter retreat from the Eastern Front. If you enjoy reading historic pieces I highly recommend looking for their works, which have been translated in many languages and are poignant in capturing the reality of that war.
Fun fact: until the 1990s one of the most distinctive and celebrated "pieces of equipment" of the Alpini was the mule!

Hey, the one under the water had a Beretta rifle as you said, it is the ARX160, 5.56 automatic, I have the ARX100, the semiautomatic version of it, fantastic little thing.

Fun fact - the first version of device they used to move underwater was created and used in WW2 by the XMAS to sink enemy ships. It was called “Siluro a lenta corsa - SLC (Slow Rate Torpedo)” but nicknamed “maiale (pig)” after a specific event - during a trivial activity of hauling an SLC, at the end of an exercise, a sailor, who due to the strong current was unable to hook the special vessel to the crane to be able to lift it and transfer it to the ground, lost his patience with the umpteenth unsuccessful attempt addressing the SLC as "pig". This term, which at the time created so much hilarity, pleased Teseo Tesei (a marine engineer who created the SLC) who, to protect the identity of the vehicle given the need to maintain absolute secrecy on the existence of the same, gave instructions so that, when referring to the SLC in an unsecured environment, the nickname "pig" should have been used. The SLC, secretly transported in the vicinity of enemy ports, by means of suitably modified submarines or suitable motorboats, obtained clamorous successes.

They are well trained. I saw it in our news, they saved our hijacked cargo ship.

Currently, in Italy, the Navy SEAL come for part of their training and for other updates, at the COMSUBIN barracks.

9º Col Moschin = The 9th Paratroopers Assault Regiment “Col Moschin” is a unit of the Italian Army Special Forces, usually called “the Ninth”, Col Moschin was involved in various areas around the world, such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Lebanon, and Somalia. --- 185º RRAO (Army Reconnaissance and Target Acquisition Regiment) -- COMBUSIN = The "Teseo Tesei" Divers and Raiders Group [Teseo TESEI was a Major of the Naval Engineers and received the Gold Medal of Military Valor in memory] --- 4° 'RANGER = 4th Alpini Paratroopers Regiment [The Alpini are the Italian Army's specialist mountain infantry. Alpini> The Alpini's name comes from their inceptive association with the Alps, the mountain range that Italy shares with France, Switzerland, Austria, and Slovenia. An individual soldier of the Alpini is called an Alpino.]

Hi, the consubim department is the equivalent of the Navy Seals, the Col Moschin department is the equivalent of the Green Berets, then there are the Alpine units which correspond to your mountain 110, in the Alpine troops there is also the Ranger battalion and they make All.

You need to check about GIS, COMSUBIN (Italian seals), Tuscania, 9 Col Moschin (Italian army)

Sooo just to explain a bit better.
All the italian SF are airborne units abd the alpine ones are the rangers
The ones that seem like the green berets are the equivalent of delta force

As an italian, I can safely say that the level of our warriors have always been top tier for all written history, '900 and world wars included, like the British giving Honors of War to us at El Alamein and being part of the invention of special forces commandos during ww1, togethere with germans and france (but italy was the first to put special forces under a different army branch as specialized forces, not just specialized units). Sadly other italian traditions are aristocracy, corruption, illitteracy and superstition. All those gave (and give...) us terrible leaders and people doing military career not for merit much more than in the other top military countries, where for many reasons (Napoleon, Prussia or Revolution Wars) the military career became much more linked to merit and valor. So our overall military strenght has always been weak, because of weak leaders or corrupted management, despite great soldiers and scientists.

Italy has so many special forces, it is difficult to keep tracks. But i would love to see Carabinieri Heliborne Squadron "Cacciatori di Calabria" hunting down russians in Ukraine.

You could react to the GIS Special Intervention Group of the Carabinieri are one of the many "strongest" special forces in the world
