ERRATA: Double checking the specs it looks like this does NOT have Wifi 6 just AC wifi. Also seeing a lot of comments about lossless support: First - there are settings for lossless passthrough on the device but even with those settings enabled it doesn't work. Trust me I tested it thoroughly. Second: Dolby ATMOS / Dolby Digital works fine through streaming apps but those are NOT the lossless formats I'm referring to.

Amazing how the Nvidia Shield was designed so well - 10 years ago, that it outperforms many of the new processors and features of these newer devices.
I wish Nvidia would release a new shield, with a more modern AI enabled processor and built-in matter hub support.
With their reputation for building future proof devices, an update like this (at the rught price) would cement it as the king of the streaming and entertainment hubs for most users.

To sum up most of these comments:

"Onn 4K Pro better!" - better value to be sure, but also has cons and won't be supported as long
"Keeping my Shield!" - good, but its 2x the price and 5 yrs old now for those just now buying
But to be fair the Streamer should've had a better chip and Wifi 6 for the price, then the lack of an HDMI cable could be forgiven

As always. You’re better off waiting for Nintendo to finally announce the Switch 2 so NVIDIA can stuff the chip in a new Shield Tv box.

The support for multi user dashbord is one of my favorite features on Google tv.

Just give me a new shield with next gen ai upscaling. The shield pro does so well with 1080p content i cant use anything else. Not to mention all the codecs it supports. Next year after switch drops hopefully we get an upgrade. With their focus on ai theyre likely cant be arsed to make a new one.

From reading the other posts here, the majority either want value for money and so prefer the Onn 4k pro box or a premium box like the Shield with useful features and spend the extra money. Google missed both markets with this device.

Is there an actual screensaver with these? Like one that would prevent burn in on an OLED? Pretty sure it shows the weather and time in a static position when the screensaver turns on, right?

Interesting review, im trying to justify buying this. I have onn 4k box and the pro and google 4k. I was hoping for a big leap. Im very happy with the onn 4k pro performance.

Are you able to install that other launcher that you demoed from a different video? I forget what it's called but it basically lets you customize the home screen and remove all the ads and change the background and tons of other customizations.
