SATS TIPS! - From a Year 6 Teacher

It's that time of Year... SATs. All children are capable of amazing things and SATS does not define you. This video brings together a range of tips that I have gained from my experience teaching Year 6. Relax, take your time and triumph to name a few.

I know that you will all do well. I would rather not say good luck as that implies that it is needed. I prefer the saying: you've got this!

oh my thank you so much for all of those 6 tips i felt really scared at the start of this year 6 i felt so worried and fragile but now I am getting confident from this video though i am not confident to speak to my teacher she is kind but even to my parents I feel like everyone will say NO in my face especially in SATs thank you for this!

As someone who did the 2023 SATs I’ll be sharing my tips that could help u with the sats!
1. Start preparing early, Sats have 3 subjects:English, Maths, Comprehension! So with the subject there are mini topics that you will need to learn like Ratio or Algebra!

2.Avoid burnouts as it can affect your learning in a bad way! Try studying 30 mins then break then 30 mins then break then keep on doing that until you have reached ur satisfaction

3. Make a timetable to be a lil more organised

Now these are important things some people do in SATS which you should not do :
• Don't be over confident
• Never Procrastinate (don't waste time)
• Don't demotivate yourself be (positive)
• Read the question carefully think around the answer
• If you are finished earlier then check make sure you haven't made silly mistakes (talking about GPS) use of capital letters, full stops and make sure you do a punctuation sweep (looking over all questions to see if you've missed any use of punctuation)
• Move on from a question if your finding it difficult you have time at the end to answer so don't be worried over one question
