Let's all do well on our SATs <3

Starting Early
Advice for 9th and 10th Graders: Focus on excelling in school subjects like English, history, math, and science, and engage in extensive reading during free time to build a strong foundation.

Planning
Scheduling the Test: Book your testing date and facility early to avoid last-minute issues. Commit to the test date to maintain motivation.
Preparation Timeframe: Aim for 2-3 months of preparation, ideally taking the SAT during your junior year to avoid senior year stress.

Study Plan
Routine Setup: Establish a fixed study schedule to make studying a consistent habit, regardless of motivation levels.
Resources: Utilize Khan Academy for structured plans and other online resources for targeted practice.
Practice Tests: Take full-length practice tests initially for a diagnostic review, then focus on specific sections or topics based on weaknesses.

Effective Study Techniques
Active Recall: Engage in active recall to enhance memory retention by testing yourself without looking at the material.
Spaced Repetition: Use spaced repetition to combat the forgetting curve, spacing out review sessions to optimize retention.
Interleaved Practice: Mix different types of problems and topics to improve adaptability and problem-solving skills.

Execution
Regular Reviews: After each practice test, review all mistakes and unclear answers to understand the reasoning behind correct and incorrect options.
Adaptation: Adjust your study plan based on diagnostic results from practice tests, focusing on areas that need improvement.

Motivation
Visual Reminders: Use sticky notes with your goal score as a daily motivation.
Social Media: Consider reducing social media use to minimize distractions.
Countdown Strategy: Set a countdown on your phone to keep the test date in mind, enhancing focus and urgency.

Day Before the Test
Relaxation and Preparation: Engage in relaxing activities, ensure all test materials are ready (e.g., pencils, calculator, ID), and plan a stress-free day.
Final Review: Use the last few study sessions to go over all previously incorrect or uncertain questions to reinforce understanding and correct mistakes.

I'm a senior who never thought much of test scores but now I'm going back and retaking it this year. my original score without any studying was a 1070, my goal is a 1300 or higher as I'm studying this year and really want that better score for college applications. wish me luck :')

Hi! I’ve been kind of in a state of stupor since the 2022 school year ended. I’m a rising high school sophomore and this video got me EXTREMELY motivated !! The SAT is still relatively far in the future for me, but I wanted to prepare ahead of time. I will keep all your tips in mind! I wanted to thank you for getting me motivated again :D good luck in your studies !!!

This is the best video I've seen regarding SAT tips!! I take my SAT in two weeks and I'm shooting for the 1350-1400 range and this definitely gave me a lot of ideas on how to study!!

this is a wonderful video! i cannot emphasize how important reading in your free time is! the first time i took a sample SAT (in 8th grade), i scored the equivalent of a 740 on the reading section. i hadn't studied beforehand, i was just a huge reader (not heavy literature either, just novels), so everything flowed naturally for me.

I'm entering junior year in two months, and i'm going to try to take the SAT in 2023, before it goes digital. my practice book just arrived in the mail, and my goal is 1530+. best of luck to anyone else taking it!

Hey, thank u for making this video! I'm going to be in the 10th grade this fall and I'm thinking about taking the SAT in 11th grade(spring 2024). I'm foreign and you really motivated me to start getting ready for the exam so I succeed and fulfill my dream of attending a university in the USA:)

Highest I got on a PSAT is 1260, I’ve got about a month, aiming for that 1500-1600 range, all I can say is that I’ll give it my best shot.

I just graduated medical school and was looking for a good resource to show my cousins how to study for the SAT and this is by far the best advice I've seen on Youtube! This is similar to how Med students study for our standardized exams (STEP 1, STEP 2) which are really tough, and wouldn't be passed with a bad or inefficient study plan. Great job!
