I have a story about smoked oysters.

I became severely addicted to morphine when I was about 20 years old. I'd order poppy pods off the internet, grind them up and eat them. So when I was 23 I decided to quit which made my brain totally break. I became very sensitive about everything and was thoroughly convinced that eating animals was really a bad thing to do.

I also had no money at all. So once a day, I'd cook a pot of rice, beans, or potatoes, eat that, and nothing else. I sat on the floor and ate it with my poor dog. I lost and lost weight and felt worse and worse. I did this for a year and a half or so though.

Finally, I gave in and bought a can of smoked oysters from Walmart. I remember it tasted so delicious, it caused my body to shake. So I said screw it and started feeding myself and my dog meat again. After that, I slowly went back to normal.

A can of smoked oysters is not what most people consider a super delicious food, but, when I see one, I always think of that first can I had and how good it tasted.

I love the oysters from the dollar store that have onions and carrots in the can. My family had a feast of the seven tinned fishes last week, and they were middle of the pack in ranking all the tins we tried (sardine, oyster, mussel, salmon, mackerel, clam, and cod liver).

Merry Christmas Matt. Thanks for another fun video. I have noticed that of late, the "product of China" canned oysters have been replaced largely by "product of Korea" canned oysters at my local Walmart.

i was introduced to theses by some Russian friends at christmas a couple decades ago. they ate them on salted plain rippled potato chips and prefer the smallest ones you can find because you get more bites per can

I recommend the bumble bee oysters always compared to the other two because geisha and good value often have grit issues like they didn't bother purge the oyster's gut. It's not all the time, but often enough that I avoid the other two now.
