If there are no restrictions on the amount of food you can take, then you can take as much as you can eat. That's legal. I know you can't take more than that, though, which is understandable.

Ive worked at buffets before when I was young, the really busy ones have a strict time limit. So it's not some kind of badge of honor to get asked to leave. Normal ppl who reach their time limit get it too.
