Honestly I wanna do story mode so I can finally not worry so much about spoilers, whether it’s on YouTube, or the splat posts in splatoon 2 and 3 when I get in there and people show it to EVERYONE.

I think that you should also be looking at the posts people are making around Splatsville. It can help you keep tabs on what the community is thinking. Sometimes you'll see people mad about a certain weapon or special and sometimes people will talk about what they like. Sometimes you can tell what mood people are in or even references to current events. No matter what, it's super useful a lot of the time. If you see a lot of art, then people are probably happy in general for example.

also if you have cleared storymode you can return to the Helipad where the 'Treasures' were piled up to find a Shell-Drone which you can pay 999 Power eggs to go find you a random item 1 time per day. These can be Money, Drink & Food Tickets & also Extra Alterna exclusive locker decorations.

One thing to note about the QR code giveaways is that they also appear on the Switch’s news under the Squid Research Lab channel. All very good daily activities, some I hadn’t thought of!

My issue with the day resetting is that it does happen until 8pm (ET for me). When I play the game the next day (after waking up) I want the game to reset.

Good thing about Salmon Run is that you can use it to farm ability chunks as well as money

I think checking all the shops will be essential for longer in S3 compared to S2 due to the fact we can upgrade star level of gear (which I think earns chunks faster), and the first month's Salmon Run gear is... Mid-tier. An iridescent baseball cap isn't like the old corporate polo shirt style things that happened early in Salmon Run in 2, but it's also not as completely out there as I know Grizzco gear can get with the likes of life vests and flippers. Honestly if I didn't know how out there Grizzco gear could get I probably would be loving the cap.

I suspect when the dust settles my day to day Splatoon 3 session (not counting stuff like Splatnet which is out of the game that helps the game) is going to be, at least 1200p and at least one King Salmonid kill in Salmon Run, some Anarchy*, some Turf War, look in every shop, doing the 5k shellout machine, looking at all the lockers in my locker room, a circuit of the hub - Even if you aren't planning on doing an order it's nice to know what memish hellhole Splatverse is currently residing in, and some tableturf once that's available online (and possibly even before it's available online though I'm sure I'm going to stop unlocking single player stuff for it eventually. Though they might just turn it to 'have a pack of cards every time you tick up' at that point). But not necessarily in that order.

The reason I wound up in a 12 hour session is bridging all of that initially was "Oh I think I'll do a couple of single player levels before quitting" that turned into 'the entirety of the first two sets of alteria levels and hitting high 90s on exploration of both of those', when I ended my single player session, turned into either (I forget) "A couple more Salmon Run before I finish? Don't mind if I do" or "A couple of tableturf before I finish? Don't mind if I do" and then I wound up back in the main hub to adjust my battle tag, do a final adjustment to the locker with the new sticker I'd just gotten, and picked up my items from the single player session. And then a few hours later was doing more Tableturf for a couple of hours while waiting for groceries meaning I needed something turn based and more viable to play handheld. And... With this many modes catering to so many moods, all available all the time, and me working on my mental block towards what used to be labelled 'ranked' it's a weirdly hard game to put down despite how short the gameplay loop is, them kicking you out of your lobbies every two hours when the rotations change, and so forth - If you decide to do any of the single player modes the game nudges you into the battle tower to collect your winnings at which point it feels like you may as well hop into one of the online modes or at least look at the various lockers.

*I found myself just... Doing some Anarchy Open at 5am both to see if it would break whatever mental block I had in S2 that meant I wasn't doing much ranked** and to avoid subjecting myself to Wahoo World in my initial session (Mako Mart and Wahoo World are... Opposite ends of the quality spectrum in terms of S2 map design, at least in terms of turf war. And from what I hear Wahoo World is even worse for the ranked modes), although Anarchy at 5am UK time apparently mostly puts you in with Japanese players at the moment. I didn't stick with a few teams there just because "Oh god what am I doing to everyone else's lag?"

Didn't _not_ do that, although it is a bit more 'this is a ranked mode' than I'd like - It's not the unranked way of playing ranked modes I was hoping for and I definitely enjoy at least Zones and Tower so I think I'm just going to force myself to play more anarchy than I ever played ranked - I'll give rainmaker another shot, although I didn't particularly take to it in S2. And I wasn't doing any ranked by the time clam blitz dropped but as divisive as the mode is it's my favourite ranked mode to _watch_.

my first switch game ever and im loving it! It feels like splatoon 3 is the most refined experience from what ive heard so its nice to jump into the franchise at this time!

Also one more thing: During the Splatfest Sneak peak and its main event, you can get conch shells every time you level up your catalog, use these shells at the Shell Out Machine. (Just like the Splatfest Tee, you can't keep the Conch shells once the Splatfest is over.)

Pro tip: The in-game day rolls over at midnight UTC. This applies to shops, Shell-Out machine, bonus catalog points, ShelDrone, etc.

One very important thing (im my opinion) is the catalogue (of splatoon battle pass as i call it). you need all the time u can get to reach level 100

In salmon run each session (Aprox 36 hours) get to at least 1200p. That’s where all the good rewards are, any further and it’s just gear. Do that each day and a half
