The key to success is long-term preparation.

As outlined in the video, there are many different topics to cover - and this is not something you can cram. Instead, you need to have a defined study plan over the coming weeks and months.

This is particularly true of reading comprehension, grammar, and spelling. Cramming isn't possible for these, neither is logical reasoning skills or memory assessment. The police test has been designed to ensure that only the very best scoring candidates make it through the selection process.

So even if you were to cram and "just pass", it wouldn't be enough.

The competition, who DID invest the time and effort, would make it through.

Try to focus on exam success from this perspective and your approach to it will change accordingly - and for the better, too.

That's probably a reason why there's not that many police officers anymore is because they've made it so hard to become one.

I am taking my written exam in NY this Saturday (September 18). I've studied but the situational judgement questions can prove to be tricky at times. I'm hoping for the best.

This is just the first step. I found out that i passed yesterday. I wrote the exam over a month ago and only found out after i called. Still havent gotten any further instructions. But like everything else in this country, it's expected. When i joined the fireservice, they took an entire year before calling me in to start EMS. Each step before that took months
