Better Call Saul is the prequel to the award-winning series Breaking Bad, set six years before Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) became Walter White's lawyer. When we meet him, the man who will become Saul Goodman is known as Jimmy McGill, a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny, and, more immediately, hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside, and often against, Jimmy is "fixer" Mike Erhmantraut (Jonathan Banks), a beloved character introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy's transformation into Saul Goodman, the man who puts "criminal" in "criminal lawyer."

Ironically, the sleazy office location probably made Saul even more legit in the eyes of the underworld.

When I rewatched the series, I saw Saul completely differently as I then knew what he did to Howard.

I just noticed— isn’t it kind of weird for Jimmy to openly acknowledge in front of a ton of people that he’s “Salamanca’s guy?” Seems almost out of character— what if one of these guys just so happened to be a rat? Also, in the eyes of the law, Saul is Jorge DeGuzman’s lawyer. Not Eduardo Salamanca’s. I feel like Jimmy is a savvy enough lawyer to not verbally acknowledge the fact he’s working for a notorious member of the Mexican cartel in a public joint.
