I agree with all of this. I got a nook for Christmas 2 years ago and it is my favorite thing on the planet. I read a lot of books before, but I always had to go to the library or bookstore when I needed my fix. Now with an ereader I finish one book and immediately move on to the next one. My reading habits are insane now.

I have a handful of paper books and I still borrow physical books from the library (as well as ebooks) but as a self-identified Bibliophile, I freaking love my Kindle! Seriously, it really is like reading on paper, and it makes reading bricks like the Song of Ice and Fire books or the Stormlight Archives by Brandon Sanderson exponentially more enjoyable since you don't have to deal with the heavy, bulky physical object. I also carry it with me and read on it instead of my phone the majority of the time, even though I've got the Kindle app installed.

it's also true that there is nothing else like physical book. the smell of paper, the feel of turning pages.
but not everyone is willing to bring a huge book outside. there are small formfactor books, but not all have such versions.
i won't be reading a 1k pages book on the bus on my way to work or something.

I agree totally with you on this one.  I read about 200 books a year and I just upgraded to the new Voyage, from Amazon.  It has a few extra features than the PaperWhite, but it is the high pixel rate that makes its display an extra joy to have and read by.  It surely is upping the standard for eReaders and I like that about it also.  The flat screen to the bevel is also a nice feature.  It is small and lightweight which again is another nice feature.  The software is nice, I still don't like the organization of books, it is cumbersome if you have as many as I do, over 1, 000, but while reading there are all sorts of nice features to help make your reading experience better.  The price of $200 is high, but since it is the best of the best for now, they can ask it.  Surely as time goes on this will become the standard display.  I gave away my TV 25 years ago and have never looked back. Reading to me is so much more fun and engaging.

ya i get what you mean. Being able to read a little here and there throughout your day because of the convenience the eReader brings is great. It makes you want to read more and get those last few pages in for the day.

I think the reason people read more with e-readers is simply because they’re more comfortable to read. Holding open a physical book, especially if it’s a mass market paperback, gets fatiguing on your hands.

You forget to mention that books don't have backlights, and e-readers are lighter and smaller than the typical book.

Actually I don't believe that I would read more books. but I believe him that he has read since he's got one . he's quite trustworthy and credible to me.

I love my Blackberry as I can use it to write stories. Most people just dont understand the advantages of a physical keyboard.
