Super easy and delicious PICADILLO. This is a picadillo recipe using ground beef, veggies, spices and a few surprises. A very
simple ground beef hash recipe that can be ready in 30 minutes. You can serve with rice OR even use this picadillo for filling in tacos, burritos or even on top of nachos. Great flavor. Enjoy.

How to Make Easy Picadillo ~ Ground Beef Hash Recipe

INGREDIENTS:
1 pound ground beef
1 cup finely diced onions
1 cup finely diced bell peppers
1/2 cup whole/sliced olives
1/4 cup raisins
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup fresh chopped parsley
handful of fresh chopped cilantro
1 tsp. Sazon
1 tsp. Oregano
1/2 tsp. cumin
salt and black pepper
3-4 finely minced cloves garlic
oil

In a pan on medium high add some oil and ground beef.
Stir, chop and cook for 3-5 minutes until no longer
pink.
Add onions, peppers, minced garlic and salt and pepper.
Stir and cook for a couple more minutes.
Add tomato sauce, chopped parsley, sazon, oregano and
cumin. Stir and cook for another minute.
Add olives and raisins, stir and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Add water, bring up to a simmer, partially cover and
cook for 10-15 minutes.
Add chopped cilantro, stir and cook for one minute.
Serve.
Enjoy..

I also add a cube of Maggi Bullion and Sofrito instead of Tomato....but your recipie looks great !!!

By the way, this is exactly (minus cilantro) how my grandma, born in Spain but grew up in Cuba, used to make her picadillo. She called her recipe "A Lo Habanero" meaning "Havana Style. I'll be visiting your website quite often!

That looks delicious, Tess. I kept thinking how good yellow rice would go with this while you were cooking, and, lo...you served it with rice! What if you didn't have olives or raisins...would capers and dried cranberries be too far off? (:
