Hey Jason, if you still have a raspberry pi you can install Octoprint on it and connect that to the printer. It will let you wirelessly connect and control the printer remotely from a pc or your phone. You can even connect a USB camera to it so you can check progress and get time lapses of it. I believe it can also control a smart plug if you wanted to control power remotely.

I would say after having my Prusa printer it was almost as fun putting it together then just buying one ready to go. I learned a lot about the printer and that was huge when things starting going down hill. And that has taught me what to look for and that has led to me having really amazing prints..

This really needed a LOT more close ups of the prints as you were describing them in order to have some reference point for the viewers to fully understand what you were saying imo. For those who've been part of the 3D printing scene and already understand the lingo, it's a little better, but anyone that's not is likely fairly lost and regularly pausing to look up the terms used.

Heck, even those who know the scene could still really use the close ups to get a better frame of reference for the commentary - this printer seems like the kind of tool that might be geared at people who've always felt too intimidated by previous offerings to give it a shot, and that audience would definitely benefit from a more visual presentation.

Just my .02 - good to see you back on YT, and glad to get back to watching/enjoying a fellow Kansan!

I have the Microcenter branded version of this same printer. With that version it actually details that you should only use the top cover and keep the door closed when using ABS but when you are printing PLA you should keep the top off and keep the door open.

Do you have any advice for a fellow creator max 2 owner? I have owned this printer for about 3 weeks now and it's been at work since.

What's the difference between Creator Max 2 and Creator Pro 2? :)

Power switch gripe - how but using a smart outlet? If it's pretty accurate on it's print time, just schedule the smart outlet to turn it off at a pre-determined time?

I just picked up an Ender 3 V2 this week. Already printed a magazine loader for a shotgun, paper towel holder, battery holder, and now I'm having adhesion issues. Thinking I might start using a brim on all of my prints.

This Printer looks great and looks like it prints great, but it feels like it is limited because of the closed software.
Having a Ender 3 V2 hooked up to Octoprint, with a tasmota smart switch and octoprint connected to Cura really makes life easier.
Slice the print > click on print in cura > octoprint boots up printer > heats up > starts printing > print is done > printer cools down > printer shuts off.
Can even start prints when im away from home.

Just checked the price on the flashforge, that is actually a pretty decent price for a "finished printer"

Think it all ends up with how people want to use their hobby.
Having a 200 dollar printer that has to be upgraded and takes some basic technical knowledge or spend some more money and have a "complete printer" that just does its work.

I personally like the tinkering and upgrading on the ender while having a basic good printer.

Jason, is your printer still awesome? I have the ender and I'm tired of fiddling with it

your warping issue was more than likely caused by incorrect bed temp. for pla around 60C should give you adhesion without having to worry about warping. Brims only need to be used on small prints that don't have a lot of surface area touching the build plate.

hello??? it's 2021 now right? is this video recording in 2015?

Anyone worried about warping with PLA: You really don't need to worry about warping with PLA. I have never seen PLA warp except for one time, and the bed itself was physically warped. You have to put real effort in to get PLA to warp. If your PLA is warping, check the bed temp, you probably have it set far too high, no default profile is going to have it set above 60 degrees, or check the physical level of your bed, it is probably physically warped.

Please help me someone! I unboxed my creator max 2. I printed the sample boats. Now its not printing anything. I started the moai print, and it acts as if it's printing but nothing comes out. Surely it's too early for the damned extruder nozzles to be clogged?

Just think how it could work if you do some calibration, as each 3D Printer is slightly different!

I wish Ultimaker's Cura slicer supported it. Cura supports the FlashForge Dreamer NX, why not the Creator (I use a hack for it with my 2016 Creator Pro)? Oh, and trust me, it won't maintain itself forever.

Hey Jason, why not print out a glow-in-the-dark baby Yoda? Or, why not print out a craft computing logo?
