The atmosphere that creates this song, brings me to my mind, images of a once glorious empire, long marches, legendary legacy. Now the golden age has passed for this people, but still the heroic effort that these people are doing to sustain their legacy is as epic as the song is.

The ending hits me hard in the feels. It speaks to me of an Empire fading into night. Heroic blood once flowed through their citizens, but so much of it has been spilt. All that remains is a death rattle.

I thought this was battle victory music since it seemed to play every time I won a battle and I for the life of me could not find it. It has to be my favourite track in the OST, it's so dramatic and patriotic.

I can imagine the empire is on the brink of collapse. Enemy armies surrounding on all sides. Towns and villages burn.

Yet a single hero, elected by the senate and crowned by the last of the imperial army rides out of the imperial capital.
Defeat is assured, death is certain but it will come at a bitter cost to all those who come agiasnt them. Tens of thousands will die by the imperial Gladius out of spite and retribution before the empire itself dies.

This played for me for the first time when I formed an army with an imperial character. I was part of the Khuzaits so I assumed this was like a universal Army theme. But now I realize it’s because my character was Imperial.

EDIT: no I was just spending a lot of time in Imperial territory lol

Excellent theme for the Empire of Calradia. For me it comes 2nd right after the theme for Vlandia which is slightly better.

I have this soundtrack tied to my army bombarding a city we were sieging when I played as an Imperial. Just the sound of trebuchets working away at enemy fortifications, when the 0:32 part hits.
