It's good that Mount & Blade: Bannerlord’s combat is fun, because everything that's not a fight is just a bit of color before you get caught up in a brawl somewhere or decide to kick off a new war. It’s a shame that you’re able to auto-resolve its glorious action/real-time strategy combat but are forced to endure dozens of hours of laborious and repetitive activities on its dry, flavorless overworld map. If I could skip over the bugs, shallow grinds, and frustrating non-combat activities around building up your faction and quickly return to battle it'd be easier to recommend. When it comes to simulating medieval warfare at the ground level between hundreds of soldiers down to every swing of a sword and clash of shields, this is the only game in town.

As a long time total war fan, I’ve always dreamed of a more personally, character rpg driven game with the total war strategy! This is SOOOO close to it

Honestly all of the reviewer's gripes (plus other things he would probably whine about) didn't even make me bat an eye 2 years ago in early access. This game is an absolute masterpiece. It's made by a small studio in Turkey yet it has one of the most active modding communities of any* game ever and it's just getting its official release. I've seen IGN gush over so much AAA recycled garbage that dismissing Bannerlord like this just seems absolutely bizarre.

I’ve been playing this game nonstop on PS5 since it came out and yeah once you start getting into the bigger battles and figuring out the finer points it’s SO fun. Even rhe smaller battles I’ll occasionally just let the units control themselves and just watch the chaos

The game is amazing, has radiant AI driven gameplay only seen in games like the Shadow or Mordor series.
It’s essentially game of thrones without dragons.
If someone were to make a GoT spin off it’s these guys.

Warband was absolutely fantastic and this is even better
