I wasn't going to upload this vid but have because I'm just showing how i worked out the going & rise, these are built in a way I'm not keen on or used to. & I'm reusing some of the old handrail as a temporary fix, Sorry it's a bit confusing, a lot of it was in my head & not easy to explain,

I don't make these videos to make money, I make them to share the tips I've learnt over 36yrs as a joiner, but filming, editing, exporting, reviewing & uploading does take a lot of time so if you have gained anything from any of videos & would like to help me out & donate pls click the PayPal link below, every little helps & will be much appreciated. Thankyou.

Great video as always, learning so much from your YouTube channel, all I need now is time and money to put it into practice...🤣🤣🤣
But please please, I know I've said this before, don't change your style, keep building!!!!, some YouTube channels I follow seem to be turning into more of a "QVC show' channel flogging tshirts and mugs and tape measures with their logo on, I'm watching to learn not spend my money🤣🤣, I don't mind supporting a channel through donations etc as long as I'm learning from it ....So sorry ranting on a bit there it does wind me up 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Use some coach bolts into the underside of the last step where the stringers sits on the ground and just have them proud enough so that the heads of the bolts are touching the flag stone. They keep the stringer off the ground and you can adjust them bit by bit until the whole thing is sitting level

Just finished my second year at college doing carpentry and joinery and all I can say is I aspire to be as experienced as you and be able to produce joinery to such a high standard you do, Thanks for the videos.

is a shame the customer chosen to keep the old hand rails and the spindals rather than that quality construction and milles better than before loved the video.

Good one Gid... must be difficult sometimes to keep motivated when you know that it might have to change it when you do the full deck restoration (because as at least one of other viewer has noted it does look very “tired” now), but great attention to detail as always.

Interesting seeing the grooves on top, rather than on the bottom, was that to match the rest of the decking I wonder?

I call jobs like this suck it and see. Your experience will always see you through when doing something you don't do very often or first time. I learn something new all the time. Good job

Very interesting to see how you do the calculations for the steps. Just wondered why you didn't use some glue as well as the bolts when fastening the triangles on to make make the 'dinosaur back'. Wouldn't it help to stop any water ingress between the pieces of timber? Another fascinating video Gid. The final steps look good but it does highlight how tired the rest of it looks..

Well that was hard Work Gid, so well done for all the work a rounds you had to make. I think I have only built 4 sets from memory, and we are fortunate to have wide boards to notch out as the 'Americans', do. I use the framing square and stair studs at the cut marks. So as long as measure it makes life a lot simpler than having to build up as in your case. A job well done. Ditto, I enjoy the geometry as well :)

Hi Gid, I dont suppose you have any plans on making a double bed frame soon? I want to make one ( seem pretty easy) but just want to see how you would make it first 😉.
