It's great to see that this is being discussed more and more without the immediate charge of heresy. You don't have to agree with Preterism, but it certainly is a faithful interpretation of the text and recorded history (Josephus, Tacitus) and it deserves a seat at the table of reasonable eschatological views.

I’m a partial preterist’s but frankly, to hear that there are many other prophecies to be fulfill is quite disturbing when Christ, at the Cross, said “it is finished”. To hear that there are many more prophecies to still be fulfill, even after 2000 yrs, is to say that Christ at the Cross and being risen was not sufficient. There is something very wrong with that picture and theology. If the Old Testament pointed forward Christ, and the New Testament points back to Christ, that is the alpha and omega( beginning and end), how are we to think there is more?? Dispensationalism makes no sense

Even though I completely disagree with them, I like that the brothers are honest about how preterism is absolutely vital for a post-millenial escathology.

Xdfoihw We are living in the final few years of the Short Season. Most of the prophecies in the book of Revelation have already been fulfilled. In scripture, we are at Revelation 20:7 and 2nd Esdras 11:32.

So when Jesus said quiet clearly, that all the things that He had prophesied to occur, including His return, in THAT generation then living in MT 24, MK 13, and LK 21; He was just yanking our chain? He didn't know what He was talking about? I think I will stay a full-preterist and BELIEVE the words that Jesus prophesied and live by it! At least I will have actually believed what Jesus actually said as the God in Flesh! And will have lived my life inside the eternal kingdom of God fully established with nothing lacking. And looking at my "casting off of this fleshly shroud" the eternal life in the spiritual realm.

Read this:

• before some of them had finished going through the cities of Israel he promised to return (Mat 10:23)
• before some of them had tasted death he promised to return (Mat 16:27-28)
• while some of the Jewish leaders were still alive he promised to return (Mat 26:64)
• in the generation of those living in the first century he promised to return (Luke 21:22, 32)
• soon/shortly/time is near he promised to return (Revelation 1:1-3; 22:6-20)

Some questions:

First; Do you still claim to believe your bible?

Second; Then how do you, claiming to believe your bible, have anything in your bible that refutes what Jesus actually said?

Heck let's go with a third; What evidence do you have to promote your claim that Jesus has not returned yet?

And aren't you either claiming that Jesus actually lied, or simply did not know what He was talking about? How does it make you feel that YOU, claiming to believe your bible, have NOTHING to base that belief on?

Jesus had already returned the "second" time after he died and was dead for three days and again appeared in person...what are people still waiting for!? It didn't say he'll return a third time.

In Full Preterism thought, is there still a final return of Christ and a general resurrection on “the last day?” Is there still a heaven? Or are we just living in it now, and when we die we are just gone? I’m so confused

I guess preterists just blatantly ignore the obvious fact that the world is only getting worse and worse, and very rapidly at that. This is the danger of letting presuppositions get in the way of reality. I hope Jeff is open to changing his mind, as eschatology is very, very important.

So if it already happened, are we living in a post millennial kingdom? Or is that longer than a thousand years? If it’s already in the past, what’s the point of trying to walk the walk now? It would appear in 2023, we are nearly a thousand years post biblical timeline at this point... no?

This “back then” theology is … interesting.
You mentioned words said “back then” were for those people at THAT time and not now.

Well how would someone who lived in the past be able to continue to teach all subsequent generations if they no longer live on this plane? Isn’t that what the books are for?

Also, what do words like “everlasting covenant” and “forever” mean to your philosophy?

If Deuteronomy is still in your Bible, I’m wondering what you think the following passage means.

Deuteronomy 28:46
“And they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder,
and upon thy seed for ever.”

Inconsistent preterist are cowardly. They see the time text, the original audience, and let fear of man control them. I know this from experience.

The gospel had to be preached in all the world for the end to come and that didnt happen in the 1st century.

I watched Jeff's sermons for a couple years and then it seemed suddenly he announced he was a Preterist and that became his new focus. It's like he is a child with a new shiny toy who forgets about his old favorite toys. Sadly, Jeff, you have headed down a rocky path and your new shiny toy is full of holes. Please stop pushing this controversial topic and stick to the Truth of the scriptures and sharing the gospel message to this lost and dying world. I love that you share the gospel with mormons and stand up for the unborn...keep your focus brother, I am praying for you.
