Jesus tucked me into bed when I was 11..he looked like he was made out of light ..i couldn't see his face but I could see his clothes and his hair..his hands and face were too bright to see...the light didn't hurt my eyes ...it was a truly amazing experience..my advice for anyone trying to get closer to God. Love God and show your love to him through your actions and prayer.. He said" if your looking for him, split the wood and he is there ...lift the stone and he is there"....everytime he healed someone he said "by your own faith you are healed "... Put those two together and you will have faith in action

It is so important to listen to someone who can actually do a good job of presenting a view that is different from your own. Most only hear someone from their own viewpoint explain why the opposing view is "wrong".
Your faith can only be strengthened or corrected by hearing quality teaching.

***Nice to see younger men discuss such topics....I'm 52 and only heard of Preterism (partial or otherwise) in the year. BTW, I'm pretty much sold on partial; I still believe the gifts of the Holy Spirit exist because I've practiced them. "Preterism" is soooo new that spell checker doesn't know it's a word. FYI.***

He stood in His Brilliance Before Me at 5 years old in my Living Room and then pulled me out of the crushed wreckage at 19 and took me to heaven and brought me back to life. I have seen the never ending fields of Gods Glory.Repent of your sins and ask Jesus to Be Your Lord And Savior. I Am 51.

Philippians 2:9-10 says, “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus EVERY knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth...” Those under the earth is a reference to those who rejected Christ in life and went to Hell. They now KNOW that Jesus is Lord, but it is too late for them.

The simple reality is that there are billions of people in the world who HAVE NOT acknowledged Jesus as the divine Son of God. Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Agnostics, Atheists etc. This historical fact is fatal to the preterist view, because while they have yet to bow the knee to Christ, certainly they did NOT in the first century, they WILL one day.

Enjoyed the discussion. I think The Bible Project series on The Day of the Lord may be helpful to the conversation as well.

One point to provoke further discussion is that the Bahai faith believes that Jesus already came down a 2nd time. They state that it occurred in 1844, when their prophet Bahala (from Persia) revealed himself to be the next Divine Messenger.

Would Judaism of the first century better fit the description in Zechariah 11? As Jesus speaks to the Woes of the Pharisees and how they are the poor shepherd doomed for destruction?

No, He has not returned or He would be sitting in Jerusalem right now. He is not there.

PRETERISTS, HISTORISTS are taking away from the worst horror the world will see (Matthew 24:21), when the earth shakes to and fro like a drunkard (Isaiah 24:20), as the pit is opened (Revelation 9:2) and the locusts are released (Joel 2:25).

John received the book of Revelation.

Yet, he was told that he would be coming back at the end.

Revelation 10:11 And he said unto me, Thou must prophesy AGAIN before many peoples, and nations, and tongues, and kings.

That revelation of the prophesy again is in the past two decades:

Interesting question. "Why view it that way and not in a more recognizable postmillennialism?" We have been taught from the creedal non inspired words of men, not the Bible. There is no scripture that places the second coming beyond the first century.
• (Exodus 23:2) Do not follow the multitude to create adversity. Do not pervert justice by siding with the crowd.
• (Proverbs 3:4-6) be still and know God. Lean not on your own understanding. Stand-alone and let Him alone make your path straight.

I'm sorry but why would you ask the question, could Jesus have already returned? When he told us that everyone will see his coming. Matthew 24:27. What else in the Bible do you question and/or not believe?

Your question about the resurrection of the just and the unjust was completed in the first century, culminating in 70 AD . The exact time of that event was prophesied in (Daniel 12:2, 7, 11) (2) And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, some to shame and contempt. (compare John 5:28-29) ?” (7) that it shall be for a time, times, and half a time; (3 ½ years) and when the power of the holy people has been completely shattered, all these things shall be finished. . (11) And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days 3 ½ years. (compare Revelation 13:5)

An old truth: "Abraham was not the father of Ishmael." Refer to Genesis 22:2, 22:16, and cross-reference with the Dead Sea Scrolls, which confirm that this chapter existed.

If abraham doesnt love his son then why in Genesis 17 is he wishing for his welfare? and cross-reference with the Dead Sea Scrolls, which confirm that this chapter existed.

Another old truth: "Abraham never believed in slavery." Refer to Genesis 12:5, where Abraham leaves Haran for Canaan with his wife, nephew, and the people he acquired—not slaves. He did not believe in slavery. and cross-reference with the Dead Sea Scrolls, which confirm that this chapter existed.

The Romans sought to destroy the Torah in multiple ways: first, by burning the Library of Alexandria, then by attempting to obliterate the Second Temple and its themes. When they couldn’t completely erase the Torah, they resorted to a strategy of "divide and conquer."

They inserted false narratives, including:

Abraham lying about Sarah to two kings,
Abraham owning slaves,
Abraham marrying a slave woman, Hagar,
Sarah being mean and obsessed with her progeny,
Ishmael being a disowned son,
Ishmael being unjustly called a "wild donkey, " which was an unfounded slur.
The reason the Dead Sea Scrolls were hidden in the mountains was because these texts were being systematically destroyed wherever they were found. The Romans inserted these false themes to conflate and manipulate the narratives.

Ishmael is actually the name of "Eliezer of Damascus, " the servant who listens. He was given that title.

When the Romans sought to destroy the old Torah, they couldn't completely erase it. Instead, they infiltrated it with falsified texts to create division among the Ishmaelites, Jacobites, Israelites, and others.

Where these guys make a mistake is they fail to see the patterns in the bible of a small event happening that foretells a larger more inclusive event to come in the fufure. Also not sure if this is for every preterist but I have one guy on my Facebook that just obsessive about post after post about how everyone else is wrong and he is right doesn't seem like the spirit of Christ.

The thing the hosts of this show fail to see is that the prophecies of judgment on Isreal were a part of the old covenant curses in Deuteronomy 28. The prophets were enforcers of torah, sent to Isreal for course correction and pronouncement of judgment if this was not achieved. It seems that if futurism is true, then the old covenant must still be in effect, except that the book of hebrews clearly communicated that it was, at that time, ready to vanish away.

Here is, I believe, a death blow to Hyper-Preterism: Romans 11:25, "For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel UNTIL THE FULLNESS OF THE GENTILES has come in. 26 And so all Israel will be saved."

This means not until the last Gentile that is going to get saved, does get saved, Israel will have a 'blindness." But when that LAST gentile comes to Christ, then and ONLY then, "ALL Israel will be saved." Obviously, All Israel is NOT saved even now, let alone in the first century. AND, the ONLY way ALL Israel could have been saved in the first century, would be for the fullness of the Gentiles to come in. That means NO GENTILES would be saved AFTER that. OOPS! That would mean you and I and ALL people in the last two thousand years AFTER the first century are NOT saved. But Praise be to God, the "Fullness of the Gentiles" has not happened even yet. We who believed in Christ, did NOT believe in vain. But, this is really bad news for Hyper-Preterism.
