DON'T BUY A CAR Right Now! I'm A Car Dealer, I Know

In this video I talk about if you should buy a car right now or wait. I get into how I prepare for the changes in the car market at my car lot and how these changes effect other dealers.

My name is Brandon and I am a used car dealer. I created Car Questions Answered to share the ins and outs of the used car market from my perspective. I share with you updates on car prices, what's happening at the dealer auctions, and what it's like being a dealer. My goal is to share information to help you make the best decisions while buying a car to save you money. I do not want car dealers taking advantage of you.

Thanks for watching and please feel free to leave any comments you may have in the section below!

Save money, buy the car you can pay cash for - a lesson it took me a time to learn. No car payment is a stress reducer.

A used car salesman who tells you "don't buy from me right now" is not your typical car salesman.
I'd even go so far as to say that this guy is trustworthy.

I agree with the overall message, but I have a quibble about "make it work until summer". That doesn't mean throw $1k or more into your junker just so you can wait a few months to save $500. So maybe the message should be, "if you can work around your car problems without spending significant money, then wait."

You're not kidding. I bought a used truck last month to avoid the tax season rush and every used car lot was packed to the brim.

I like you because of your honesty and your down to earth videos

People that are getting big tax refunds are doing it all wrong. People should figure out their tax liability beforehand and try to get the lowest possible tax refund possible. Why would you want the government to keep your hard earned money all year and then getting nothing in the form of interest on YOUR money?

I bought a car back in January (an older model) and the dealer and I actually discussed how I was beating the tax season rush.

A deer ran out in front of my SUV, and totalled it. I have to buy now. Just did this weekend actually but, got a great deal! 🙏

In my area people are keeping their vehicles longer, times are tough. It's great that you're selling cars in this price range. There aren't many new vehicles worth the money anymore, except maybe economy cars like the Corolla. Trucks are insanely priced but it seems I see them everywhere, doesn't make sense.

I had no intention of buying a car right now. I have my 2013 Dodge and my 2009 Lincoln, and my 2003 Ford cargo van.. Ill keep them running until the wheels fal off, before I pay 200% and 300% over actual value

I saw at my local Chevy dealership, used jeep renegade for $24, 000 and a Ford F150 XT for $42, 000 single cab. It’s a mess out there bruh, at this point it’s better just get a new car like a Kia forte or a Toyota Corolla or a Camry or a Hyundai or a Honda, in my opinion.

I'm getting $.38 back on taxes, I'll happily sit back and watch your bloopers though.

My 2018 Ram 1500 is paid off (130K miles) and I'll be investing in keeping it running for the forseeable future.

I do my taxes very precisely, so I get the smallest tax return. And I buy my cars in January for lowest price from desperate dealers. Cash only, no extra fees for dealers or banks.

I love his honesty cause many car dealers won't be honest. I don't know or even met this car dealer I'm just a subscriber thats all but i believe him.

Yep. I agree with you. When the smaller lots are seeing good business, that's a sign of either a bad economy, or bad pricing throughout the industry. I need a reliable new car. I actually need 3 (I have 2 daughters graduating from high school this year). But I cannot justify, nor would I try to justify, paying almost $40K for a car that I know sold for $18K brand new 20 years ago.

People who get large refunds are doing their taxes incorrectly. You should get 0 back ideally. Always get more on your paycheck each week instead of a refund.

He’s smart. He will sell a good portion of his inventory in the next 60 or so days so he’s hoping by then that the market will soften so he can replace his inventory on the low ball end.

Pretty surprised at the prices I'm seeing. Excited to buy my car at an even lower price in a couple months after the tax rush. Those 392 chargers are calling my name 😂
