For this part of the series, i've been commissioned to play bass on several tracks for a friend of the studio. I've never heard this song before, so i'm downloading it from Dropbox and importing into Auria Pro, recording the bass DI on an Apogee Jam then exporting that as a 24 bit WAV file back to Dropbox. No PC or Mac required!

With a decent internet connection, there's no reason I couldn't do this on a beach with a Pina Colada. Now that's a way to live....

Actually, GarageBand does not lock you into an amp or effects sound. They're post processes as long as you've not added them before your signal goes into GarageBand.

Nice video, I haven't used Auria in while but I think you can double tap the stop button to move the curser to the beginning. Nice music and bass playing!

Great video, Adam! Could he have helped you out by recording his track then going back to segment it and label each segment (Intro, verse 1, chorus, outro, etc.)? Seemed like you had to figure that out yourself, which you did a great job of.

Huh. I never knew Auria would overlap takes for easy editing. All this time (in Cubasis and Auria) I've been manually overdubbing to a different track and then gluing it in. Which was a bit of a ballache tbh.

FYI. In auria freezing is used to free up the CPU. You can just unfreeze if you want to make a change. It is not like bouncing. I am not sure what you mean about garageband in that respect. Did you say that garageband bounces on the fly no matter what? If that is the case it would be bad, but I may have misunderstood. Thanks for the video.

Thanx for taking your time to make these videos... I've just bought the same stuff as you, iPad Pro and all, and all the daw's i could find :) Auria Pro isn't that far from Pro Tools in the way you do things. Cubasis was a bit limited for my taste, Gadget totally unusable and GarageBand... well it could ave had midi :)

Ipad to MAC or PC Recording

I am fortunate to be able to produce music on a MAC and PC. I have been using an IPAD Air for remote writing and recording and discovered IPAD apps with sounds LIKE THIS ONE that I would like to record directly from the IPAD APP directly into either the MAC or PC. Having trouble getting the output to record and I am looking for assistance.

My sound card that I use are the Presonus AUDIOBOX USB; the PreSonus Audiobox iTwo and I have my Keystation 88 connected to an IRIG Midi2.

My DAWS that I record to are either Studio One 3 or ProTools HD 10.

I am just about to buy an iPad Pro 12.9 and I will be using it alot with my recently purchased Audient id4 in my hobby home studio. I am on a budget so I need to decide how much memory I will need. I will be using Garage Band alot and maybe Pro Tools, not storing tons of effects....can I get away with 64 or 128 or will I need 256 or 512? Thanks in advance, your vids are just what I need to get underway.
