Lorentz Transformation can be written in matrix form. Lorentz matrix is a matrix of order 4 y 4.
Lorentz transformation is a space-time coordinates transformation. Since we cannot apply Galilean transformation in relativity therefore we need to define a new transformation for Minkowski space.
Moreover, Galilean transformation is only valid in Newtonian mechanics for particles moving with very low speeds and it just transform space coordinates. While Lorentz transformation is defined for high speed particles in Minkowski space.
