We mainly deploy three brands of access points. Each has their own use case. They are Cambium, Grandstream, and Ubiquiti. We use other brands and I'll talk about that in another video. My thoughts in the video!

We use use grandstream for residential and enterprise. Cambium for high dense areas, beaches, docks, and venues. Also looking at Cisco small business and juniper for options.

Love the Grandstream GWNs, especially the 7660 for value for the dollar. The GWN/Cloud as the Master as opposed to using the GS router or AP as the Master. So far very impressed.

Was unaware of the Cambium brand. Thanks for the heads up.

That'd be enough to keep me away from Cambium. Did they at least give you a cut for your customer?

I tend to use unifi at solo sites with an onsite controller with 30 or less ap's with no more than two ssids.

for odd stuff I use cisco mostly for the really odd places.

I've looked at cambium in the past but their website is really hard to navigate, I didn't even know they had controller based wifi until I just now looked. i thought it was all wisp stuff

For small side work I use the tp link omada stuff with no controller and just setup adhoc on the ap itself, no more than two of them when I do that.

Any plans on doing a cambium 101 style vid?

Left Unifi for Grandstream.. it's been very solid.

We have enormously big and challenging sites on multiple continents running Cambium. Its pretty great stuff though the V6 software is still a little bit undercooked but has been progressively getting better.

thank you for the video. Please share with the use the reason/s that we should not use Ubquite IP Phone with Ubquite access points please. The prices of Cambium switches and access points are too expensive. Also, provide us with some info like if we need license to use the Grand stream access points. thank you :)

I had Unifi WAPs and other other Unifi network gears for about 8 months and then the honeymoon was over. Nothing but absolute headaches. I have been doing network stuff at work and home for many years. The bugs they kept having, security issues were bad enough. I had equipment updating itself when it was not enable for auto updates. Had a heck of a time get the WAP to 2 older older versions of the firmware. A week later, notice the same issues. Check the logs, look at that, it updated the FW on the AP on it's own again. I had 2 friends the bought Unifi network stuff, We had a few of the same issues, but more different issues. I put back my old Cisco managed switches and things ran as smoothly once again. I replaced the Unifi WAP with the Grandstream 7630 WAP and smooth sailing. Shortly afterwords, my friends got rid of their Unifi stuff as well. I know many swear by it, but I sure don't. I liked of of the features it had over the Cisco SMB stuff, but it all went down hill might fast. Grandstream WAPs are a great product. I looked at Aruba and some other, but Grandstream did it for me and no regrets.

Hi Willie, I to have been using Grandstream for the past couple of years now.

So easy to setup, can be shipped direct to customer with zero config and they will connect directly to the cloud platform.

Impressed with preformance through walls and floors.

I have not had a chance to play with the new Grandstream routers yet.

Grandstream switch's to be shipped soon :) YES, full Router, Switch and Wireless Solution all under the GWN platform.

If you do not want to use GWN Cloud, local controller on Router or Access Point is another plus for some.

I do not feel sorry for Ubiquiti, as their sales will keep dropping. They do not support distributers that have pushed and supported their products for the past decade. I no longer install, but remove UniFi when ever possible.

Hey Willie! Just curious - why do you prefer Grandstream wifi vs Ubiquiti in a voip environment?

What has the supply chain been like for Grandstream and Cambium? I do a lot of Unifi and it has been a challenge.
