VIDEO | Oregon murder suspect escapes courthouse in wild surveillance video

Crazy video from an Oregon courtroom!

An accused murderer's brazen escape from the Washington County Courthouse last Monday was captured on security video now made public by the county sheriff's office.

He was caught fleeing from the courthouse on surveillance camera shortly after shackles were removed.

Police were able to track him down and take him into custody two hours later after receiving a tip that he was hiding in a stranger’s apartment.

Why did they take the shackles off both the hands and the feet of a murder suspect then turn their backs to the unsecured suspect? 0:37 Someone is about to lose their job. I never seen bailiffs, prison security, a sheriff or any escorting officer do that before. That bigger guy should of been standing between suspect and door not have his back turned then stepping back crossing his arms and giving the suspect a clear path. A murder suspect always got guard's eyes and hands ready to pounce on them if they dare to move and the doors are always guarded and most of time feet remained shackled.

Maybe cops should have mandatory physical tests every now and then...

First cop kept up pretty good. 2nd one need a lot of cardio. One of my pet peeves about cops is how out of shape 90% of them are. Or I see so many sitting in cars or security looking at
their cell phones. It was so nice of them to unshackle his feet. I dont get that one. Or security by the door.

I would have caught up to the suspect. I was first place in the 100 meter dash for high school and on the 400 meter relay team (last runner).

His hope for speed model weave twisty ankle chicken run is very entertaining. Amazing that it actually worked. Quite funny. Yes. They should lock the doors. The jury can't see if they are locked or not so it couldn't hurt their feelings. Also a big jump in a uniform in the aisle would be wise. It could be accidental that he was gruesome and eyeballing the defendant. Perfectly innocent all could agree.
