I wish I could find a Bitwig video series about building every kind of drum. Snares, claps, toms, sticks, crashes, hats, rides, even cowbells! I tried searching but not much luck. I've been just making them myself but my knowledge is limited to my own biases of how you are supposed to design those drums. This video reminds me there are better ways.

You can feed the "bend" AD with the constant instead of an explicit multiplication it's the same :)

Is the kick meant to change phase/pitch to match a bassline dynamically? Or am I missing the point?

Man, i don't get it! How can modulating the phase do the job, what ususally modulating pitch/frequency does? Phase is where "you are" on the sinewave, amplitude is how loud it gets and frequency is how many repeats you have to match a certain pitch. On the meter the distance should get longer between the amplitudes, but it stays constant, while the sound gets deeper. As i 🤪
