What ive learnt about these tips is that i always circle back to these tips later in my golf journey and realize that the tip was right all along.

If the hole looks like the one he’s playing, I know that I’m screwed before I step up to the ball. A required draw, which is not in my playbook, is needed. A straight ball goes way to the right, ends in trouble. I’d tee off with a 5-iron and keep it in play in the middle

In fact, I’ve always wanted to try a round where don’t hit anything bigger than a five iron and simply focus on keeping each shot in play right at the hole. For some reason I really believe I’d score better if I did this

100% this is a great drill. It will help massively if you have issues with a left club path. David Ledbetter teaches this take away. The extension is, take away, set the club lag then rotate the torso. 💯

I was taught the first position back was low with the club face square to the target with the shaft pointing to the target You have the club face closed and the shaft pointing to the left. I will say there are many ways to get the club in position at the top, but starting with a closed club face might lead a lot of people to hooks and chunk shots.

Hey man, so I'm about 260 lbs. Very thick in the chest, mid section and arms. I've always found that in order for me to keep my arms connected to my chest and my hands close to me it seriously limits my range of motion. It does very well for me in chip shots, as I don't need a dynamic or powerful swing. I also play with a neutral to weak grip and so when I am swinging my irons. Anything from 8 iron and up, I have to allow my arms to separate from my body in order to lengthen my swing and pick up speed. Ive been told that I need to watch john rahm, we are similarly built and he is able to generate great power with a short compact swing. Anyway, when I take the club back I roll the club face open (this isn't a problem for me, the closing of the club face just prior to impact is a power generator for me and I have above average hand speedn with powerful wrist and above average timing/hand eye coordination(I grew up the son of a professional boxer) the main problem is the inconsistentcy that comes from disconecting.my arms and body. Do you have any recommendations. I really appreciate any help thank you

Great mini lessons bud. I have taken a few of your tips and last week used them in a live round. I shot 3 strokes better than previously on a course I’m fairly used to. Hopefully it will stick with me. This is one of the lessons

Brilliant drill, for further understang of this look at the steering wheel takeaway drill also. It teaches the correct rotation of the forearms, which is critically important.

Be AWARE...I started doing this drill 2 yrs. ago and now I can't do my backswing without pausing as shown in the vid...not a big deal, I hit the ball great, but I get a lot of comments on the links about the "pause" in my backswing! But this is a GREAT drill for a proper takeaway and seems to get and keep your swing on plane on the downswing...

@golfslump
This guy is amazing with his tips. Not only he tells you and explain you, but he also hit the ball. Not like older supposedly coaches that tissue. The movements that you have to do, but you never see them hit the ball, keep the good work.

This is correct.I shot my best round feeling this.the club feels like its in front of your hands.Low hands is the key.Its easy to come over the top though.It takes the correct down swing to make this work

I believe that first move is the most important, it set the mark for the whole swing, say what you want about contact, angle of attack, etc, etc etc, all important, yes, but if the first move is correct the rest falls into place without manipulations....this is only if you want to be consistently good, unless your happy with 1 shot out of 10 shots being pure. I've tried like most others, every trick in the book to get better, there's no short cuts in the golf world, fundamentals, trust me, i come from the school of hard knocks

Greatvtips, love how the club face stays pointed at the ball during initial takeaway

Getting to where the hand is close to the body and the club head is in front is easy. The problem is how to get to the top of the swing from there. A super slow video showing how it is done would be superb!

I started naturally doing this and it’s completely changed my game
