I used to have terrible interview anxiety. What I did was start applying to positions (many many years ago) that I had no intention of accepting if they were offered to me. My experience and education would open the door, but I knew ahead of time it wasn't something I wanted to do. Fair is fair... I interviewed for positions I wanted but the employer just had me come in and waste my time to fill their external quota so they could justify the internal promotion they were planning on doing... so turnabout is fair play overall I think.
Those interviews for positions and employers I had no interest in were amazingly lightweight and carefree. Through this I learned how little the majority of the stupid questions you have to answer really matter, and how to quickly formulate a cogent response without tripping over your subconscious bouncing it around inside your skull for too long.
Highly recommend this... it certainly worked for me when I was part of the workforce.

Experience. That is the biggest factor in having confidence. Try to control the direction of the interview and speak on what you know. If you're asked something you may be unfamiliar with, ask clarifying questions about it and bring up something else that you think at least loosely can be analogous to what they're asking about. It's really like having a conversation about stuff that comes easily off the top of your head.

It'd be great to hear your take on over 50 ppl in the workforce and the challenges they face due to age discrimination.

I found your channel over the summer, and I have found your videos very helpful in my quest for a second job. I have been able to make it through recruitment exchanges to interviews with Hiring managers. I still find myself not being the best candidate for the jobs, for factors out of my control.

I used to lack confidence, too. It's a shame that we put so much emphasis on nonsense like this. I have two tips.

#1: Interview with companies you don't care about. The only way you'll "get good" at this game is to practice.
#2: If you are a "naturally anxious person, " consider speaking with a psychiatrist. Seriously. Mine will write me an Rx for Xanax as-needed I have a history of panic attacks.

If you have an ethical dilemma with #1, then try doing mock interviews with INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS over Zoom. Ideally, do both (bullshit company interviews coupled with mock interviews with industry professionals.)

If you're in university (BS, MS, PhD, MD/DO, etc.), speak with career services. At my undergrad, we were allowed to set up mock interviews with industry professionals. Take advantage!!!

Hey Bryan, can you please make a video on how employment and internships are verified - like work number, calls etc.? Are unpaid internships verifiable?

I stay in a country, where jobs that work on weekends are more likely to call you for interview and give you the job. Then a normal Monday to friday job. But the pay scale for weekend work is far less then a normal day job. Why is that

Im an introvert and I have some social anxiety.
But for some reason I never ever have issues during interviews.
Likely because its scripted to a degree ....and i use the same answers for each of them

I had an interview recently where an interviewer said we absolutely micromanage. I am a legal trainee dealing with high profile political cases. Should I accept the offer. Not sure if micromanage can be a good thing?

Okay, so one thing I don’t understand is that I’m a person who generally asks questions throughout the interview as they come up naturally. Sometimes when I get to the end, I legitimately have no more questions because they’ve all be answered. But I’ve been told that not having questions at the end is a red flag. What should I do?

Hey I have one for you what happens when you get ghosted by an Interviewer and did all the test white board basically a full month of interview and testing just to be ghosted on your final 3 hour interview. I reached out to the recruiter which then I received a auto email that they went with rejection the next day. Is it even worth my time to handle this or write an email stating the unprofessional nature of this. By the way its a fanng company and on top of that I use to work for the company and the recruiter reached out to me and was in contact throughout the whole month of this process
