Want to know how to freeze dry at home? This videos shows every step of the freeze drying process using a Harvest Right freeze dryer so you can see just how easy it is to preserve your food for years to come.

Have you heard of a Harvest Right freeze dryer and wondered what freeze drying really is? A harvest right freeze dryer is the perfect way to preserve food and create a food storage that can last up to 24 years!

Fresh or cooked foods are placed in the Harvest Right freeze dryer where they are frozen to -40 degrees Fahrenheit or colder.

Once the food is frozen, the Harvest Right freeze dryer creates a powerful vacuum around the food. Then, as the food is slightly warmed, the ice transitions into vapor and evaporates.

The freeze-dried food is then sealed in moisture and oxygen-proof packaging (Mylar bags, mason jars, or cans) along with an oxygen absorber to ensure freshness until opened.

When water is added to the food it regains its original fresh flavor, aroma, and appearance.

Finally a video that properly explained freeze drying, even though it's a sales pitch.

We have a thing called Loadshedding in South Africa. Government and local councils cannot keep our lights on for 24 hours at a time. (But they do give themselves a great performance bonus every year). Sadly, this appliance will never be of any use to South Africa.

I can't... watch while she's looking at me. She's staring into my soul. Cool product, though.

3:29 it has definitely changed color slightly. Not a big deal, but there's no point in lying about it. It has what appears to be a white, almost chalky color in some places. And it's definitely changed in texture

Reminds me of the movie, Back to the Future: Part II

The mom tears open a small, mylar bag of a dehydrated Pizza Hut pizza.

Lorraine McFly: "Hydrate level four, please."

Hydrator enlarges the pizza, in 5 seconds.

She serves the hydrated Pizza Hut pizza to the family.

Marty McFly: "Oh, boy oh boy, mom, you sure can hydrate a pizza."

This is good for long term storage as emergency food stay safe everyone I highly recommend this besides canning as the risk of getting sick

While people were scrambling to buy toilet paper and food prep because of this plandemic, I stayed home working on my garden and planned on the next meals to freeze dry.

Man, just contacted Harvestright. This is a great machine!
I will be evaluating and posting recipes soon.
The funniest thing is people acting goofy about the price. It reminds me of the Soviet Union. Everyone talked about how cheap the Kalashnikov was to produce... they were right and wrong... the manufacturing facility and R&D was very expensive. If they had produced a few thousand weapons, they would have been very expensive!
Instead produce millions upon millions of weapons and the start up cost divided by weapons becomes amazingly low!
If people buy and use a food freeze drier... the price per serving is nothing but a fraction of the cost of the packaged foods for sale.
Yall Take Care and be safe, John

How do you properly seal the food you choose to keep in the canning jars? Or are those only used for easy access (snacking)? Also, I think I'd want to heat that meal up in the microwave..adding hot water doesn't seem like it would do much. Hot water to rehydrate fruit as well if you don't want to eat them frozen and crunchy? Super curious!

Neat! Why is the pump external and not built-in to the unit? Seems a bit clunky.
