Kinda random, but one time I rehydrating raisins on accident by keeping them in my overnight oats. I had milk grapes. They were cursed, and tasted like milk.

So does freeze drying and rehydrating afterwards effect the flavor profile at all? Or is it virtually the same since you’re only removing the water and adding back in said water. I have always wondered this

Texture takes a HUGE hit. Basically becomes mush when rehydrated lol

Better to add less than too much. You can always add, but you can't take out. Plus, I think I'd rather eat something that was a little powerful in flavor, than something that is so diluted, that it tastes like nothing.

If only the freeze dryers didn't cost 3-4k+, lol. of people will never have to worry about how much to add to their non-existent freeze dried foods. Going to take a time for that investment to pay off, lol. 😂😂
