Yo I had this when I was like 12 and no joke it is the worst pain man and the bars sometimes get stuck and ur mouth is literally stuck open and those bars wear a holes in the back of ur mouth and the brackets in the front also wear holes in ur mouth I cried in pain for weeks I tried the wax I tried everything it was the best day they took that out of my mouth good luck yall there are better options

ok i got this put in today and it was honestly not as bad as i was expecting it to be, this is how it went:
before they put it in they use spacers, which makes it so that its not as painful. it really doesnt hurt that bad, but you have to bite down on the metal parts that to on your back teeth to push them in all the way and theyll make you do it multiple times so thats annoying and it might be painful. they have ti do it twice, the first time to get it to fit and the sdcond time to glue it in there; the glue is really sour and nasty so keep your tongue back and then when theyre done gluing jt just rinse your mouth

that only takes like one or two minutes to put both in, which is the hard part. then they just measured my wires and put the arms in and i was completely fine, i just took a bunch of pain meds. as for chewing, it really weird and uncomfortable and i kind of had to use my front teeth and my gums to squish around the food but apparently you get used to it. its better to stick to soft foods for like a week or two since chewing is really hard

if you have this appliance put in, its because you have a really severe overbite, but its only gonna be in there for like max a year. as for the result, unlike braces, you immediately see the change because it essentially forces your jaw forward. your overbite will be mostly gone from the front, but your side profile develops over time

this thing looks insane but youre actually gonna be fine. they dont have to drill into your gums or anything, it takes like 2 hours max

Bruh my overbite is pretty bad but seeing that this shit requires you to drill in holes to attach makes me say fuck no.
