doing one right now .. that patch is pretty thick .. should've made it a little thinner maybe .. you can easily feel it .. you have to put a good amount of spackle and then work the sanding to get it just right

Do you (somehow) try to fill the hole before you apply the patch, or is the patch strong enough by itself?

Raged at my upstairs neighbor who kept me sleep deprived for months on end and punched a giant hole in the wall. Moved the other day and have to fix it up before management comes by!

Why doesn't your patch stick out from the wall like mine? I am very frustrated with this kit. 😬

Is it slightly raised at all because of the patch?

I'm going to let anyone know who is buying this product that it does not spread nearly as easily as the guy in the videos. Mine was a nightmare. It was like trying to spread plato. Nearly impossible.

Nice video. Here is the problem... This product has Silica and you were sanding without the proper ventilator mask. Only a small amount of this dust can have life long damage to the lungs. You might want to mention the proper use of this product.

This thing is like playdo, it is hard to spread. So you'll tend to use too much.

Mine has been on and spread. Still not completely white after 3 hours. Course it was a deep hole.

Oof my internet wasn’t working and I ended it doing it wrong. I had a feeling I did it wrong too cause I didn’t spread some spackle on the patch

For a wall repair directly in-line with a door knob, this should have been a much more substantial repair. Also if this is happening at this spot, the homeowner should be told about little stoppers with rubber pads that could be installed in the baseboard in line with the door knob. It will stop the doorknob before it hits the wall again. You mentioned teen Agers? It will happen again.

No need for this kit. Patch is way too thick. It'll be a headache trying to feather. What you really need is masking tape and a 6" knife, 10" knife for ease. Add the compound thin to the patching area cut a piece of masking tape or more if needed. Using a decent amount of mud on a 6" knife, spread it over the hole starting from the middle of tape adding pressure towards to end of tape. From the center, repeat towards the opposite end of tape. Continue by carefully gliding the knife for even spread. Feather edges by angling knife in a circular motion using a decent amount pressure. Glide blade one last time across the patch carefully gently but firm. Once dried, sand and clean the continue with a 10" knife by adding another generous layer of mud and reapeat the feather and glide method. Once dried, sand edges and run swift even strokes to feather with wall.
