Noose Off Test For Kids And Seniors After 37 Years!
Показать описание
Believe it or not, a noose was on a cognitive test for kids and seniors for 37 years.
Why was a noose on the Boston Naming Test since 1983? Why not taken off years ago?
This video is mainly for professionals and students in cognitive sciences and testing.
This video examines the importance of cognitive testing for students and elders.
Could the noose picture have influenced test scores between different ethnicities?
The noose was replaced in 2020 - but will the new image have its own problems?
And what about those 40 years of test results? Where's the baseline now?
The video also addresses the secrecy that has kept the noose on the test all these years.
People were discouraged from discussing what pictures are on the Boston Naming Test (as if knowing about a goat or a truck would change results for cognitively impaired people!)
Maybe with more communication the noose would have been gone long ago.
Anyway, you can find pictures from the BNT and other exams all over the Internet.
* I am not a neuropsychologist - but I worked for over 20 years in community mental health programs. Many of my clients had cognitive tests. The issue of testing is important to me.
Sooner or later, most of us have a loved one who will need cognitive testing. These tests guide the education and care of our kids and seniors. We need them to be the best they can be.
