What is a normal blood pressure reading?

As a hydraulic engineer l have a problem understanding the way that blood-pressure is currently 'measured'. It is a well known engineering principle that if a pressurized pipeline is compressed (as in using the blood-pressure cuff), the line pressure naturally increases to try and maintain the flow-rate. It's a standard way to test the efficiency of a pump. This is what the blood-pressure cuff dors. Yet, when the measured pressure increases, it's seen as a bad thing rather than than evidence of an efficient pump.

If half the population blood pressure is over 120/80, why did they recently change the standard 20 points lower than what it was for decades. ACP is stating the new threshold are incorrect, but rathr anything above 150 is considered high blood pressure.

120/80 this is a flaming lie. The panel of cardiologist and the drug companies cooked the bools. There are lots of people out there dizzy and passing out with orthostatic hypotension from the awful drugs. My faith in medicine which was shaky is now completely destroyed.
