FAQ's
Q: My Key Cap will not click down in place correctly. Whats wrong?
A: If your Key Assembly is not installed correctly, I would disassemble and inspect for damage. If none is found, try to reinstall as seen here. If its still not working, its most likely due to the hinge clip being damaged or not oriented correctly or the metal pins on the keyboard being bent out of place. If you cannot fix or locate the issue, I would assume the key is damaged in some way and needs to be replaced.

Q: The Hinge Clips came off with the Key Cap. What do I do?
A: Because they key can usually not be reinstalled with the Retainer Clip and the Key Cap still attached to each other, you would have to separate them as seen here, using a small flat pry tool.

Q: Where can I purchase replacement keys?

Q: I have a Key or Keys that are not working. Will this fix them?

Q: The hinge clip came apart into two pieces. How can I reassemble?
A: They fit together with a small plastic pin on the left and right of the inner clip. These fit into holes on the outer clip. To see exactly how the inner clip sits in the outer clip, remove another key cap and copy the clip under it.

Q: The rubber spring came off. How do I reattach it?
A: There isn't really a good way to reattach those. They are not meant to be replaced. Best advice is try to use a small amount of glue. If that does not work, you may have to replace the keyboard.

Thank you soo much. my b key was broken even the retainer cap that makes it work fell off

Thank you so much. "L" key was jammed, I opened the key cap and cleaned. And it is working fine now. I contacted HP support before watching this video, support agent was charging so much money to replace the whole keyboard. I was shocked at the price they quoted, their bogus solution to replace the whole keyboard and the real solution was removing a small particle stuck under the key cap. With the help of this educational video, I fixed it for free and learned how to do it.

I have acer nitro model keyboard and my q key came off and its not damaged however imhaving trouble reattaching the key to the plastic bit, do you have any tips or help on reattaching it?
