Bangladesh Ex-PM Hasina Breaks Silence On Her Ouster, Calls For "Justice" | Subscribe to Firstpost

Ousted Bangladeshi leader Sheikh Hasina, 76, urged her supporters to show their strength in public later this week. This call came just hours after a court allowed a murder investigation against her to move forward, linked to last month’s unrest. Hasina fled to India by helicopter last week after protesters overwhelmed Dhaka, ending her 15-year rule. Over 450 people died in the unrest leading up to her ousting. Since then, members of her Awami League party have gone into hiding. Thursday is the anniversary of the 1975 assassination of her father, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the country's independence hero, a day her government had declared a national holiday.
