Bangladesh Protest: Bangladesh's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has resigned amid weeks of unrest, according to the army chief, General Waker-Uz-Zaman. In a televised address, he announced the formation of an interim government and urged protesters to halt their agitations, accepting "full responsibility" for the violence. Hasina reportedly fled Dhaka by helicopter and landed in India’s northeastern city of Agartala. Indian media sources suggest New Delhi will offer her safe passage. Meanwhile, the Border Security Force has issued a high alert along the India-Bangladesh border in response to these developments.
