Welcome back to our smallholding renovation journey! This week, we made some major progress on the farmhouse as we took down walls in the kitchen and upstairs, removed lime plaster to prepare the walls for restoration, and also tackled the living room fireplace. With the help of our good pal Will, we powered through some of the biggest challenges yet, making exciting breakthroughs in transforming this derelict farmhouse.

Watch as we continue to turn this over 120+ year-old Welsh farmhouse from its derelict state into the dream home we’ve always envisioned. Demolition chaos to exciting progress, every step bringing us a wee bit closer to our dream!

OUR STORY:
We're Gav and Nicole and we decided to risk everything by swapping our comfortable lives in the city to buy an abandoned homestead/smallholding in the West of Wales.

We have a huge challenge on our hands as the property and the land all need a full renovation after lying empty for 6 years but as we spent everything we had on the move, we will be doing all the work ourselves. This is a life time project though, so we have time to figure it all out!

You're making really good progress. Now that the upstairs layout has been removed, you can really see the potential for the space. Floors in really good condition.

The small/tall approach is definitely better for Gavin's back. Teamwork makes the dream work. You two are making incredible progress. I can absolutely see the potential of the space, and it's going to be gorgeous. Thank you for bringing us along, and don't overwork yourselves.

Love the idea of adding the window in kitchen and expanding it. That'll make life a lot better and increase home value by a lot too.

Good effort, a massive change from when you started. Sometimes big jobs can seem overwhelming but... break them down into smaller ones and it gets done. The satisfaction when you've finished will be immeasurable - the only thing close is when you have your first fire in the house, a wonderful feeling! Keep it up, you're doing well. Da iawn chi! 👍

Hello guys, taking down that wall really made a huge difference. Letting in the light, it looks so much better.👍

Wow what progress you are making. It is a worry with all the dust, the amount of time you are spending in it. I'm glad you mentioned not letting the dog in again, I said awwww she's breathing in all that dust. Good luck going forward 👍

Another mammoth demo, you guys certainly have a smooth system working! It’s quite amazing just how much rubble you have shifted between the pair of you! Could start a new trend, party themed demo weekends! Nice to see friends. Even better if they get to help with the demo! Looking forward to the next video.❤

Another great video highlighting the enormous progress you are making through hard work and determination. Dust is a killer so your reflective thoughts are spot on and getting masked up is essential. But what a great space it is turning into and the room you have is fantastic. With your plans to build guest areas into other buildings you have a real chance in claiming the space as your own, suited to your personal needs and functioning solely for yourselves. That’s the way forward with your plans. Can’t wait to see it all gutted and the transition into your dream home. Best of luck, Wayne

Stunning work guys. I was worried that you had been affected by the deluge of rain or very cold spell…..but freshly laundered shorts on set and Gav showing some flair at directing. Love the rubble chute. Maybe a 2lb lump hammer for Christmas? Keep at it 😊

I'm jealous you get to make the house exactly how you want it to be, even if you guys might not feel that way in the midst of the demolition. Doing great
