About us,

We are a family from the North-East of England following our dream to restore a beautiful abandoned french Château. We discovered the heart stopping Château De Lalacelle in summer of 2020, this beautiful architectural monument Is set in the countryside of North-West France.

The moment we visited the Château we all fell in love, from the beautiful sweeping landscape and forests, to its stunning untouched interiors and magnificent spiral staircase in the turret.

Unfortunately Château De Lalacelle has been abandoned for a number of decades so will need a lot of restoration and DIY.

Please subscribe and follow our families journey, with the up’s and down’s in moving from the UK to rural France and restoring this beautiful building to its former glory.

I am from India and I always find such transformations so incredible. Its hard for me to imagine renovating an entire house from scratch, esp because we rely on getting labour to fix even the tiniest of things. I dont know if its because its cheaper to hire labour for piecemeal jobs or entire renovations, or that we lack knowledge, or getting all of the requisite tools without shelling out money that doesn't justify the cost, we urban indians just cannot imagine taking up such projects. Hence, its even more fascinating to see how a small family puts in their heart into a shell of a house and turns it into a home! There's so much love in this place, and it is so, so beautiful!!

Seeing abandoned homes always makes me feel sad because once upon a time they were someone's pride and joy. This is just a wonderful transformation.

Abandoned houses literally pain me. It's such a waste of past labor and resources, so needless to say, this video gave me so much joy! Thank you!💜

This little boy is fortunate to have such amazing role models like his parents and others. Absolutely admirable and honorable; incredible work! Wow!

This is one less abandoned home that won't be rotting away as urban decay. Loving that this wonderful old home got some incredible love. Great video!

The transformation that you’ve achieved in a little over a year is mind blowing. Tony and Tracy, you’re incredibly inspiring, and I’ve grown to admire you both so much, in the short time I’ve been following your progress (binge watching, because I can’t get enough of you all). You’re both so humble, and your modesty should not prevent you from being so very proud of yourselves, and of what you’ve created from a very broken canvas. You’ve brought me great joy, and that to me is priceless, so thank you 🙏🏻

It really is amazing all that you’ve accomplished in a year. One building alone is an accomplishment, but you’ve made huge strides in two AND all the outdoor accomplishments. You are a powerhouse of a family, plus, you’re all so lovable!

The upstairs roof framing is a work of art. That little boy is lucky to have such a wonderful and personal home live in and such incredible hard working parents. Blessings upon all of them.

Its all wonderful but I am still in awe of the stone steps and 2nd hand staircase Tony 'cobbled' together. Looks like they were there all along. Champion!

I am on a journey like yours with a mining shed built in 1892 in a West Australian gold mining town, although my project is taking me a lot longer. I like you have the memories in my head of what is behind or in the walls, floors, ceilings and roof. The trusses holding my roof up are massive and your video reminded me of the huge amount of work I did to restore them. I hope your family enjoys the beautiful restoration you have achieved for generations to come. Thank you. Stephen

We started to follow projects like this about abandoned farm restoration over two year ago. We were so inspired by these kind of content that we decided to start our own abandoned farm restoration project. In September 2022 we bought a piece of land in Spain that has a beautiful stone house “in bad condition” that will be restored later this year. We started to share our journey in the hope to inspire others, as we were inspired. We are very grateful for you guys for sharing your journey with us. Thank you

Tony, you did so much to improve and make the cottage a home...from the dormers, roof, windows, flooring and so much more. Tracey, you are amazing as well with everything you have done. Johnathan, you too have done your part as well....you have accomplished so much as a team....Well done!! It now looks like a home and am so happy for all of you!!

The cottage doesn’t even look like the same building! Along with the work in the chateau itself...all of that in just one year, mostly on your own (yes with occasional help of friends and family), just flipping amazing.
