The calmish reactions make sense to me. It was the same for me when a wave crashed on me and pushed into the side of a great white shark. It took me a minute to even figure out it was a shark. I was completely calm and then when it kinda clicked I jumped 3 feet straight up out of chest deep water and yelled for my buddies to get out of the water because there was a shark somewhere around us. So yeah, I can definitely see them being calm until it clicks.

21:00 I like this clip bc even if it's not legit I think it depicts a very interesting reaction of a presumed father faced with a terrifying situation that he doesn't fully understand but instead of fleeing he chooses to go full Rambo and chase his unknown intruder into the woods. In this fight or flight situation he chose fight which is pretty damn impressive

I live in the PNW. I don't know anyone who has lived close to the woods in the mountains that doesn't believe in this creature. That in itself is kind of telling.
