Played this as a kid and alot of its themes went over my head. Re watching the whole story as an adult makes me appreciate it even more ☺☺

Ffx was a beautiful story. I couldn't put the time to play through the 2nd part, so I appreciated watching every minute of this. Much thanks.

When I was 3 to 4 years old, my uncle bought this game for my playstation. It was just so hyper and the dynamic JRPG fights were so entertaining and the monster designs were so cool and the characters so full of personality.. I didn't understand A SINGLE WORD in english since I was born somewhere with a completely different language, but I sure was entertained.
Gameplay wise I didn't even understand what the hell I was doing, what attack deals damage or where to go so I feel like I didn't even leave the ship after the first fight against Le Blanc and her goons so I'd just replay it over and over again 😂

7 years later, being a relatively poor kid still playing PS2, I replayed it with basic english reading skills, still not fully understanding the dialogues, I just couldn't stop playing it, everyday after school, and this time because of the story that is being told. I've never played FFX, so I wasn't sure what Yuna kept talking about, "is it you? But it can't be.." so distant, so melancholic and with empty hope of reunion, but I NEVER understood why and who she was referring to, and it was such a mysterious plot filled with adventure and a weird overly flirty interaction between the cast that younger me couldn't see (also now I would look at these character designs.. "differently").
This time I was also able to understand the mechanics of the game, what attack deals damage and what gives stats or healing or debuffs but I was SO BAD that I mostly relied on playing everyone warrior and just grinding till everything dies one hit- It was actually so frustrating that I couldn't kill that weird sphynx looking fiend in the desert, I'd just keep dying and dying and I could only give up and ignore that mission to progress...

And then, 6 years later, trying to replay it AGAIN, I was now fluent in english, probably a little more capable of understanding how to make working teams with some sort of strategy behind with a tank and a healer at least and it was so much easier to go through bosses without grinding, it was ABOUT TIME lol
But also, at this time I had played FFX and then I understood the story and I was IN TEARS playing that game, memories from how sad she was in the second game AND OMG IT BROKE ME.... Nothing can mentally prepare you enough for how tragic that ending was.. But these two games made me appreciate melancholy, sad stories, failed romances, trying to move on from the past.. It's rich of emotions in a way that average media isn't. It's so real, most relationships, marriages, friendships, pets, family, everything is going to end, one day. It made me understand the concept of goodbyes, unsatisfied ends to relationships, giving the living people the proper appreciation they deserve. Honestly, the empathy I have originated from these pieces of art.

The japanese are truly masters for making such a volatile game that managed to entertain me during completely different periods of my life and brain capacity. It made me who I am and, ironically enough, can't "move on" from these memories. I'll forever be grateful for the experience of playing this game, feeling what I felt, and understanding things I couldn't comprehend so early in life. It made me mature up enough to show appreciation for people that died knowing they mattered to me, and that I loved them and knowing that when they're not around anymore in this physical world, they'll always be within me, being a part of who I am, just like this game is.

Thank you Final Fantasy X-2 and X, this is a love letter from a fan that has experienced your game perfectly.
You are a legendary story.
I will never stop coming back to play you, for the rest of my life.

They couldn’t have modified LuLu’s character model at all to make her look even the slightest bit pregnant 😹

Back in the day that first cutscene BROKE the early internet. It was everywhere.

I sincerely miss the more niche, less popular internet... Now it's all ads and annoying/gullible people who really should not have unfiltered access to the internet.

1000 Words is a fantastic song in its own right even without the beautiful visuals and without being attached to Final Fantasy.

The English localization's singer (Jade Villalon) did amazing

I will never understand why everyone hates yuna's character development in this. She was depressed at the end of the last game, it was breath of fresh air to see her happy in part 2.

Yuna originally intends to completely self-sacrifice at such a young age, and then helps revolutionize the entire world, so I'm glad she got to experience more youthful experiences, less tragic friendships (her friends and guardians for most of the first game are forged with, at that point, her believing she'd live a short life and her friends might die too), and she gets to have adventures afterwards. Rikku teaches her to be more assertive and playful, and Paine helps everyone stay focused while the gullwings help her be more open about her past (it's not actually disrespectful for her friends to wanna get to know her, that's just bc Paine is trying to outlive and outrun the past).

I remember ppl being mad that she wasn't completely self-sacrificial or as soft-spoken in the second game, but they forget she's still young. Even then, i still find her noble sensibilities present even as her personality diversifies (as it should).

Also, Kimahri is still amazing and if they made an alternate history FFX-3 based on him, i'd play it.

i could do without the weird harem-anime dynamic with Brother but they keep him in check and that's always funny

Just finished watching ALL FFX cutscenes, and now I'm here, immediately after. It's like a hard kick in the gut and a sucker punch to the face

Say what you want about the Tidus and Yuna laugh scene in Luca, but the massage and thunderplains concert scene is 10x more cringe

X-2 was not only criminally underrated, it was wrongfully slandered for years.

Recentaly started playing again and the game freezes during the cinematic after they have their mini concert and she has the dream of running away from guards with guns. It freezes just after the get shot and hit the ground, while the tear is funning down her cheek just before it switches to tidus. It does have a small scratch on the disc and it is the PS2 game I got years ago

Just finished playing FF X and immediately texted my friend that it was my favorite so far( i'm doing a marathon of final fantasy games ), i was literally wiping off the tears from my eyes because of the ending. Then with a big smile on my face i started the second part and you guys should've seen my face when i saw the intro....what...The hell, i'm just gonna see if tidus appears again because i refuse to play it😂.

Superman doesn't have to hide his identity here but he still wears glasses lmao (I'm 100% sure Nooj is voiced by Superman from JLU)
