20 years later, and Yuna's sending ceremony is still one of the greatest video game cutscenes of all time. The music, the scene composition, the juxtaposition of her beautiful dance against the heartbroken cries of the surviving villagers. Just amazing.

Square will never recapture the magic from this scene. This is Final Fantasy, that´s what is all about.

I swear this game made me feel like i was actually living in a fantasy while playing the game. Really hope they make a remake version like how they're doing it with VII.

Probably the saddest detail about this scene is the woman at 1:33 falling to her knees. Earlier, when Sin attacks Kilika, she was holding a baby, and now it's nowhere to be seen...
Yevon claims Sin is punishment for the sins committed by the people of Spira, but what sins could a baby be guilty of?

I remember playing FF X when I was around 7/8 years old. It was this scene that ultimately captured me and from this moment on I sold my heart to this game and serious. The magic in this simple scene is uncaptered in anything else I've ever seen

This is forever one of the best cinematic scenes in any video game to me. So beautiful

For all who are seeing this scene out of context, this is effectively a funeral. All those orbs leaving the caskets, those are souls. Unlike our world, souls often need to be pushed, or sent, from the living plane. Otherwise, they become monsters known as fiends and rise again to terrorize those still living.

Just started replaying this. When I was a child, this didn't hit the same. No one I cared for had died yet.

That's no longer the case. This ACTUALLY hurts now. Especially having converted to Buddhism. It means a lot more and it's DEEPLY PAINFUL. Actually made me sob.

This is genuinely chilling, got to this part yesterday and there’s something about this that makes it genuinely one of my favorite moments of any game I’ve played. It might be the music, yunas dance, the crying of the citizens, or the visuals but something made just sit there in sheer aw with silence and made me become emotional (which I usually don’t become when playing games except in a few instances like this one), thank you square

Three scenes that made me cry in this game. The sending, Yuna and Tidus kissing, Tidus’ disapeared

I can't remember how old I was when I saw this scene at my friend's place. But I still remember it well. I had never been big on video games before and didn't even know what FF was. And after this scene, I was sold. And to this day I think FFX is one of the greatest pieces of art I've ever experienced, and it sold me on the thought that video games can be so much more than just a fun way to kill time.

Not sure what made me look this up just now, but one thing is certain — it’s the most beautiful cut scene in any game I’ve ever seen, and I will never not cry.

I wished there would never be a next time

No more people being killed by Sin...No more sendings for Yuna

Everyone just stood there watching her...It was strange...and somehow...horrifying

I never wanted to see it again

The last great gift Sakaguchi-sama was able to provide us before he was unceremoniously ejected from the company.
