to be my primary working set as it was 2/45's more then my last leg session on this machine and this is what I envisioned as performing. After banging 13 reps I was exhausted and said ok that's it. Lets do a slower rep back off set .Then I started thinking I need to start following my program of falling into a desired rep range on legs and for me that is 6-8. That rep range has serve me well. So after I got my breathing under control and heart rate down and was forgetting just how hard and painful this set of 13 reps just was I started imagining adding more weight and killing it. So 1st I redistributed the weight by moving one of the 45's to the top post changing the physics and the degree of increased resistance difficulty. Next I placed a 35 pound plate on the side post and replaced the remaining 45 on behind it. This is how you gotta think if you want to get gains. Even though this set was brutal I was able to nail 13 reps and that told me I could go heavier if I did not puss out...
