I have always wanted to have both of these unique and rare leg presses next to each other in my gym. Which is better??? Check out my review after using both of these leg presses for a while. #medx #gymequipment #bestgymequipment #legpress #workoutmotivation

To get more out of the selectorized weight stack, gap the weight stack about 4 holes. This creates more movement around the hip and makes the selected weight feel much heavier due to change in leverage from the lever moving the weight stack. To do this you cannot have the front of the machine too close to the wall or the footplate will hit.

“Cause that’s how we roll!”
I love it Nathan. Keep rolling that way!! You have an awesome gym. I like hearing the pros and cons of the machines.

I can attest to how great the selectorized version is. I've used about 10 different leg presses with my clients and in my own workouts over the years and this one is hands down the best.

Great review and instructional. This is good stuff man, I get you, and love how you guys roll. Getting equipment that's bio-mechanically correct is the name of the game. Way back when I had a gym design and set-up retail company my wife and I used to go to trade shows and actually go around with a microphone in our clothing just to take verbal notes about how certain manufacturers functioned. I wanted to get the best, not based on popular name, but on how it actually worked your muscles. Equipped with decades of experience training with the best compound free weight movements I learned what a good machine should feel like. Much respect to what you do.

Hey Nathan! With the slight uneven weight distribution on each leg for the avenger like you mentioned, I actually feel an even bigger uneven distribution between left and right handles on the strive/prime row; the row has a similar design, with collars on both sides but weight coming from only one side. I have no idea why this ain’t being talked about as I also confirmed it with using a luggage scale and measuring the load in each handle for the row. Let me know what you think!

This is the dream! Can you do a vid where you rank your top 5 or so favorite upper back pieces?

Great review. Problem is I still can’t decide between the two!

Do you have a few sites where you can buy some of these leg press?

Great review. Do the two stacks need to be at the same weight to balance it out on the selectorized?

In BOTH machines--the full leg extended position MUST contact the rubber bump-stops at the end-point WITHOUT allowing full knee extension. Yes--I literally talked to one of the engineers--Clay Steffes--from the original Medx and even Nautilus days. Further--I drilled holes in my Avengers, so I could move the entire seat carriage in another 4-inches. Or as Doug Mcuff sated below--pin the selectrized machinee out those 4 holes. I ended up sell my selectorized to grab another Avenger. When set up right, Avenger IS the hardest exercise machine on earth. All of our clients hate it--for THAT reason. Too bad.

Have you compared the Medx selectorized row against the Medx Avenger Plate loaded row? Any big difference? Thank you

I thought MedX LP had 1, 200 lbs of resistance.
