100% convinced BMW is only still selling due to brand recognition/cache.

Every new model they come out with is increasingly uglier, heavier, and cheaper on the inside.

They literally have nothing beyond really good ICE engines right now. Which for 90% of new BMW owners, doesn't truly matter.

BMW knows that rare drivers will really drive this gen of M5 on the track so it doesn’t care about the weight as long as the engine can provide enough power under current technology

I am getting tired of all the weight comments. Wake up, this is the only way we're still going to have a V8 under the hood in 2024. Otherwise you'd have a 2 cilinder due to emission claims demanded by captain planet.

Absolutely AWESOME! THE ULTIMATE " Wagon". BMW M Division will have sorted out everything. The 2+ tonnes will " not exist"... This will be incredible.
And yes like the M3, Touring every time. As always Alex, great review.

People around the world were begging BMW for the rebirth of an M5 Touring and they do it on THIS GENERATION of all? It will sell close to nothing and BMW will discontinue the touring again for low interest.

Looks better than the sedan. But not a fan of the rear of the 5er in general. And that's why i drive an i4 😄

Now I'm just sitting here, confused. Not knowing whether to go cancel my RS6 Performance order & wait for this M5 Touring or should I just stick to the plan & buy what I afford anyways, which is a VW Polo. On a serious note though, I heard BMW split the diffuser into 2 parts to allow optional towbar installation. If that's the case then why put the reverse light there on a Touring? Wouldn't the towbar block the light?

Yes I would have this M5 over the RS6 as the M5 designs and technologies deployed are all new, a breath of fresh air.
