Lincoln, The Wiz is the version with very prominent actors, actresses, and singers (Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Richard Pryor). It's an all black cast. It is great! Bonnie may I suggest you and kiddos watch them all!

Hi Bonnie! I haven't seen Wicked yet. I love the story. I am 59 and live in Ohio. I loved The Wizard of Oz when I was a kid. I remember getting so excited when it would come on tv every year and my Mom and I would cuddle up on the sofa in our family room and the whole family would watch it. I was watching The Drew Barrymore Show and she has had both actresses on her show. The one who played Glenda, when she was on, Drew presented her with the original wand that was used in The Wizard of Oz. That was so cool. I have heard different reviews on the movie Wicked. I’m glad y’all enjoyed Wicked ! I saw the poster at your theater for The Greatest Christmas Pageant Ever. I saw it last night with my boyfriend and we both enjoyed it. I definitely recommend you take your kiddos family to see that! Funny beautiful and touching. I even teared up at the end.

I love hearing what people think about it who didn't know the story before! I was lucky enough to see it on Broadway in 2010 and have always listened to the soundtrack but honestly forgot a lot of the plot so it was still exciting to me, too. I immediately went to see the movie and second time and I still feel like I need to see it more, I don't know why, it's like addictive!! Going to read the book next which is apparently darker.

I absolutely loved Wicked. The stage play and the movie. I love Johnny Bailey too. He could literally have chemistry with a potato. I really agree with your opinion about Glinda (or Galinda) and Elphie. Cynthia and Ariana both play such good parts and I don't think they could have found anyone better. I obviously LOVE the music too. Can't wait for this time next year!!

I went to England 14 years ago and saw the play Wicked, at the time, I had no idea what it was. It was so good. I’m almost afraid to see the movie, that it won’t even Compare. But of course, I’ll go just so I can compare.

My best friend was a performer and guest starred in wicked Broadway she passed away in 2019 due to health. We shared the same illness. Even if I wanted to I can’t bring myself to watch it because it would make me feel sad knowing she’s not here so I won’t do that to myself.

The Wiz is a classic about a Harlem (a neighborhood in NYC) schoolteacher Dorothy (Diana Ross) tries to save her dog from a storm, she's miraculously whisked away to an urban fantasy land called Oz. After accidentally killing the Wicked Witch of the East upon her arrival, Dorothy is told about the Wiz (Richard Pryor), a wizard who can help her get back to Manhattan. It stars Diana Ross, Michael Jackson and Nipsey Russell. All famous African American singers and actors.

3. Start teaching your kids and yourselves that there is a great big CULTURED world outside of Utah and Florida. ❤
