I'm an LSA (library services assistant) which is basically a librarian but sans the master's requirement lol so thank you for bringing light to libraries as well! Libraries are such a valuable tool, I hope more people discover their closest libraries :)

I love this 💕 I’m a librarian and it’s great to see people on booktube talk about the awesome resource that is public libraries!!

I want to see more of this across the bookish community in general. The consumerism gets to be a bit much sometimes.

If I ever had access to a library like that, I would faint. Nobody would ever get me out of there again. 😅 Thanks for taking us along!

That library is GORGEOUS! I love how it's clearly design to be appealing to everyone and it looks so cozy, yet modern. I'd spend hours reading there.

I love having a library card. My local library has Overdrive where I can add borrowed ebooks to my kindle. If they don’t have the ebook I want, they will most likely have the hard copy. Going to the Library is always so calming and relaxing. The best part is that everything is free.

That library is huge and looks so nice! I’d say over half of the books I read I check out from the library. I love to see more support for libraries on book tube!

WOW! I grew up in Phoenix and went to the downtown library often, but I haven’t thought about it for years until this video! This feels so nostalgic, it’s a really cool building

Yona of the Dawn is SO GOOD! The character development Yona goes through, the found family, the political machinations... Plus, it has my favourite villain of all time!
Sadly I stopped reading a while ago due to college stress, but I really want to pick it up again. I can't wait to hear what you think!

Changing Hands is the best! I go to the Tempe one a lot but I want them to open one in DT Gilbert because I think it would so really well. I haven’t been to the actual Phoenix Library but I have their digital card for Libby - I LOVE how it is a group of libraries you can get content from.

I loved this video! The video of the Phoenix Library was great. It is so nice inside. It seems like Phoenix, AZ has great stores and libraries. I agree that libraries are necessary and essential in communities. When I was young, during the summer, my mom would take me and my siblings (5 of us total) to the library almost every day. I have great memories of the summer reading program and checking out books. I used to check out the maximum amount every time. Now, I mostly use my phone but I do stop in every one in a while.

A few fantasy manga and comic recommendations:
Magic Knight Rayearth - a manga magical girl series about a trio of girls who gain elemental powers and have to rescue a princess/queen who is the "pillar" of her world. Very D&D influenced. A lot like Sailor Moon, but with the cool addition of mecha.
Vision of Escaflowne - an anime/manga about a girl who gets swept off to another world/planet where she uses her knowledge of tarot to see the future and help the knights of the land who actual battle in medieval style mecha suits of armor to defeat the big bad. I would recommend the anime first, the manga is older, and I think there are two versions - one shonen, and one shojo and the story varies depending on which you pick.
Princeless - comic book series, seven princess sisters have been locked in towers by their father in hopes of finding worthy men for them to marry. The youngest princess has other plans. She recues herself, befriend the dragon guarding her, and sets off to rescue all her sisters, gaining allies along the way such as her dwarf bff and a lesbian pirate queen (the latter of whom spins off into her own series).
Toil and Trouble - a graphic novel told from the point of view of the witches in MacBeth who are more like ancient goddesses in this version. With one supporting MacBeth and the other supporting Malcolm sisterhood turns deadly as war threatens to rip the very land of Scotland apart. And where does third witch, the peacemaker, fall in all this?
Ladycastle - a graphic novel, while the men are away on crusade the women will...defend the castle and discover they are more capable than they dreamed.

Your library is absolutely amazing! I highly recommend Lady Mechanika for fantasy comic book. The artwork is incredible- set in an alternative 1800s London, it has steampunk, mystery, monsters, scientists! It’s totally fabulous!
