I was saved by a brave officer and Pepsi truck driver when a tornado formed near us on the highway ( between Indianapolis and Columbus, OH in the early 90's). We ran to an overpass, where at the direction of the OSP officer, we all shoved ourselves as far up inside the overpass structure as we could get. My tiny Honda was tossed like a piece of paper. They saved my life. Both men have since passed. I will never forget them. Our officers and all first responders are angels on earth.

These guys are something else, the way the cop acted after getting teleported to the shadow realm with the civillian he was saving was heartwarming, and the way that last cop was talking to the people too, restored my fate in humanity.

Them being sucked in to the drainage pipe was so scary. Not knowing how much breath you're gonna need or if you even have it left. Thank God they're both alive and they weren't alone in that moment. You can tell how much it meant that the officer was right behind him the whole way, protect and serve indeed. Also shoutout to the Buffalo officers, they kept a consistently good attitude throughout that f*ckass blizzard.

My brother is a retired police officer. We forget sometimes that dealing with criminals is not all they do. Police are the first ones to car wrecks lots of times. My brother has had to crawl in cars, down banks, whatever he had to do to get the victims and render care. He’s also had to deal with no survivors, which he said is something he will never forget. Matter of fact, he says as a police officer he’s seen things that no one should ever see. He absolutely didn’t want my son to be an officer because of that. My brother has offered encouragement to those that were down and hurting. He dealt with many different situations. It’s not always about the getting the bad guy, sometimes it’s helping the good people! He was there to help or do whatever was needed.
I know there’s bad officers to some degree everywhere, but there’s also just as many good officers that truly do want to make a difference and help.
