None of these options exist on Microsoft Teams.

Please note this "make a test call" option is not available for personal account. It works only for work or school accounts. A work around would be to get a link invite from a friend and sign in as guest to test the mic and speaker.

Imagine locking test calls and device settings behind a paywall.

It seems that Microsoft is bent on only focusing on the paid Teams version, which allows you to properly set up audio and video before a meeting. The Personal free version does not have any of these settings available to the user. Zoom, anybody?

There is no "Devices" after clicking on "Settings". So bad xD

This sucks. The interface of the (old) teams is different. Being able to check audio just before a meeting (think Zoom's way) is crucial. Overall horrible user experience.

There is NO " make a test call" in my Microsoft Teams software installed in my laptop. Is it because it is a free version, so it doesn't include test call

This has not aged well. Teams really lacks in many departments where Zoom or Discord work flawlessly.

Teams makes everything more complicated I prefer zoom but at work they use teams

My work around for a personal account was to create a meeting, join it, and then turn on auto captions so I knew that it was picking up my microphone.

I don't think this works with the free version of teams.

Looking for instructions and ability to test through web version (not the app) but apparently that was not thought of?

I dont know anymore, how often Teams failed in the last years... Last time i had a meeting at 13:00. So i locked already in at around 12:20. At around 12:50 Teams say, nobody is responding and closed the session. I tried to connect again but not working anymore. I started Teams new, but Teams was freezing at the splash screen. At 13:05 i get already a call, where i am. I tried than the online version, there i get the error message, that my account is not aviable. Than i started my Notebook new. At 13:25 i was than in the meeting, but than it was already too late and the meeting get rescheduled... Another time Teams started during (!) the meeting an update and closed teams completely. After that, i never get it to run anymore. I had to reinstall Teams to get it running again.

Slightly different interface on our version (1.4.00.7174, updated April 2021): parameters menu is now accessible via 3 dots just left of your profile picture on main interface.
The rest is pretty much the same, with a few added options like background noise cancelling.
EDIT 1: Could be worth mentioning that this apparently only applies to the desktop version of Teams, not the browser version.
EDIT 2 : Why does it say "reduce distractions while sharing desktop early in the video?"

I found the "Settings" option next to my profile icon, it's the horizontal three-dot icon. Click on that, and then you can click on "Settings." I was able to test my mic there.
