Nothing beats that moment when you walk out onto the Halo ring for the first time. Be it a fresh playthrough or a completely new game to you the effect is the same. Halo has fantastic world building. From it's beautiful sky-boxes to the fist pumps your marines give you when you catch some air. It took a long time to get the first Halo game to be on my show, so hop in with Master Chief as I take you through my Halo CE review.

Let me know what you thought about my Halo review!

The memories I have with these games are too precious to me. Friends that unfortunately no longer am connected to anymore, one of them even passing away in a car accident last year. We had an amazing time with this series (first 3 at least).

Halo soundtrack still gives me chills, the game was just so thoroughly epic.

"Hey."
"Yeah?"
"You ever wonder why we're here?"
"It's one of life's great mysteries, isn't it. Why are we here? I mean, are we the product of... some cosmic coincidence or, is there really a God... watching everything? You know, with a plan for us and stuff. I don't know man, but it keeps me up at night."
"No I mean why are we out here, completing everything?"
"Oh, uh... yeah.

15:45 Competetive Scoring does keep track of both time and score

Halo CE is such an important game for me, personally.
I remember playing with my uncle on his xbox (him guiding and translating for me as the only english phrase I knew was "How do you do! I'm Kevin.") and the simple act of turning the flashlight on and off on my own felt revolutionary.

I see Halo as the franchise that made me a gamer and in turn a completionist. I love this game so much and it's one I still play every now and then.
So happy to see you giving this a shot, Jirard. Especially after hearing the crew talk about never doing Halo because of the medals. I love this video so much! <3

I cared about the marines so much in the early halo games (basically pre-343) that I would restart the checkpoint if one of them died. I'd protect them and track them in my peripheral vision so I knew where they were and what they were doing. There was nothing more gut wrenching and creepy than standing in an empty room alone, surrounded by dead allies, knowing that you could have done something to save them. Plus, their personalities really do bring them to life. I'd feel happy leaving a room or area knowing that all my teammates survived, with a a sense of accomplishment. And I'd even try my best to keep them alive in vehicles too. Like in halo 2 when you get the Scorpion tanks on the bridge at the beginning with two marines (and a rare extra one running along the bridge if he's not killed by wraiths). One second you're driving along, take a huge plasma ball to the face, and suddenly the two marines that were sat on your tank have disappeared. You connect with the marines through dialogue and cutscenes in ways that 343 have never done, and that's what makes this game so special. You actually feel something for them. I'd even go as far as running into a room and clearing it before my allies arrived, just to save a few grunts as the arbiter.

Every time he says laso like “layso” I get a little triggered.

So, Jirard, you’re telling me you tackled LASO while playing as single-player? Someone get this guy Mjolnir armor because I think technically he now qualifies as a Spartan

Jirard: I completed Halo

Master Chief: No, I feel we’re just getting started

The Halo series are the best FPS games.

So just pointing out you can keep track of both score and time. When you choose which one you want, there’s a third option, competitive scoring. It shows both and is obviously very helpful because of it.

Now all there's left is just one pressing question
Do you ever wonder.... Why are we here?

I LOVE the transitions! That is such fantastic attention to detail. Thanks for giving such great justice to the game, its franchise, and its legacy! Loved the video! <3 Also, no-one can ever complain about Jirard’s dedication and skill after he had to fight agains the MCC UI and LASO

I loved this game when I was a kid. Played through the missions endlessly, not to complete the game as per these standards, but just for the joy of it. While I'm not as big a fan of the direction the series took after Halo 3, that first trilogy was absolutely magical to me.

I have the spanish dubbed version in physical format for PC and with a widescreen patch, it still holds up incredibly well.

I’m really glad you decided to rethink your Completion Requirements, Jirard. I really love this series but certain games make me worry about your mental health. You’ve accomplished what you needed to in this Completion, and it was very entertaining and informative. Be proud of that and continue to take care of yourself!

The reason LASO playlists don't involve all skulls, is because in the MCC version of each game, they added numerous skulls to mix up the game and provide more options to players. LASO only involves the original 13 or so in each game, the same you had available when the game was first released.
