I disagree. Someone can give to give. Not to manipulate. But if they don’t end up getting, then the relationship is one sided and that is not sustainable.

This is confusing because I thought u treat others the way you want to be treated? So how is it not authentic ?

I realized recently that thinking relationships are transactional is something the little kid that was us made up to try to control the chaos of our world. It is a part of magical thinking. If I behave “good”, mommy will be happy and not threaten to harm herself. You go right into adulthood thinking like a 5 year old. That is why ain’t nothing working out right.

How do you know you are doing something for them out of the kindness of your heart or to get something?

This isn’t necessarily true. Pretty much depends on the intent behind the action. For example, you could be making this video. It could be to actually want to help people grow and become more aware or you could make the video in hopes of fame, money, status. Same action different motives.
